Ok so the war is on. Just wanted to point out that I changed counter mod to Uxbridge mod. Partly because change is always nice partly because I thought the black numbers on a lighter background might make for better clearer screenshots.

Oh btw if anyone knows why the screenshots are so blurry let me know. Possibly they are too big for the 200 kb limit I am guessing. They dont look bad in the paint program.

Good luck and have fun to Malkarma!

Malkarma uses a different strategy in Poland. Most people use 1 arm in Poland Malkarma used both for 1 initial attack then withdrew both to the railroad and it is the infantry that will clear up the rest. I was wrong in this I thought one arm goes to Denamrk and one to the Netherlands. If one uses arm in Denmark one can save the landing craft usually used but the cost should be a bit slower and more costly campaign in Poland. Worth it or not I dont know . In the end as will be seen both arm went west.

Poland falls. Denmark invaded but not conquered. No arm unit and no landing ships. Lots of airplanes on standby so sail in to copenhagen could have been costly but I was very tempted to do it. British units are really bad but in the future I think I will always put a 6 str French corps in a port ready to sail.

Netherlands occupied. Allied airforce did alright in the air.

First war year comes to an end. Not that much to say. I have taken smaller losses as Germany and my subs are off to a better start but it is very early days yet.

Lets skip forward a bit. Partly because not much happens and partly because we play so fast.

Nothing going on directly except some sub action. Some British units have arrived in France. I intend to send 5 corps most likely.

Some action as we get a cold turn. Belgium falls but the Germans were not quite ready for it it seems and left a fair amount of Belgium open so as per historical I order my digital troops to advance and prays for no Ardennes shenanigans . If there is another cold turn this will hurt otherwise it is probably good for the allies so a bit of an gamble.

Edit: Mistakes were made the British fighters were on mission mode so British bombers flew unescorted with not so good results .

In the Atlantic is was a very bad turn. 3 subs vs 9 escorts in the North Atlantic sank 11 MM and 1 escort (they got 2 shots). In an exact mirror in the other game my 3 German subs vs 6 escorts sunk 2 MM (only one attack so possibly Malkarma only had one convoyroute I had 2 in the North Atlantic). The huge range of random outcome is what I feel makes the subs such a wild card to gamble on. In neither case did the subs lose anything.

The advance backfired a bit as of course there was a 2nd cold turn in a row. Still fighting over territory not in France and cold comes with a bit of combat penalty so not altogether bad but not as good as it could have been. Losses were like 2:1 in German favour.

Also sub war going really badly for the moment next turn get escort upgrade maybe things will even out a bit.

Forgot screenshots for April and luckily I got rain on May 10 so not much happened.

The air war is fierce but the Germans are winning it for sure. But progress on land is not so big so far so think I will hold out at least until July. Ground losses on both sides pretty low so far.

In the Atlantic I am suffering big losses but this turn I got 2 hits on a sub so some payback. Lots of UK resources go to escorts and subs so not much of a buildup for the moment.

I have gathered my counterattack force in front of Paris hoping to catch something eventually we will see how that goes.

Germany do almost as good progress as our games. Think we played 5-6 turns in each game today crazy need to stop .

Despite the bad weather start the Germans are coming strong.

German advance continues and I am looking to pounce on an arm corps somewhere but the offensive is well planned with good retreat paths and no arm corps is left in a vulnerable position. So this turn we counterattacked a inf corps sent it retreating losses 10v5 but not that exciting.

I finally attack one arm corps it retreats a couple of time and gets away with 1 combat strength and 1/2 hit points

I detect 7 German mech units and the British decides not much to do here and start to run away while the French looks on.

Oh and BTW look at the crazy air losses almost 400 points in total between Germany, UK and France with the Germans coming up on top. I am not sure but cant remember seing numbers like that.

The end is near as Sinatra would say or the Final countdown as Europe would say. Paris and Rouen is gone next turn but France lasted until August. Definitely helped by the rain in May. All British comes home. Some leave for Africa but most go to the UK.

The perfidity, the nasty Germans invade Northern Ireland. One spy report says it was because the leader of Germany had a craving for Guiness. Believe that whoever wants to . I was just going to garrison Belfast but was too slow.

Forgot screen shot. Not that much going on otherwise. France is willing to surrender.

Picture of the Germans in Northern Ireland.

Situation Grim on the Atlantic with German surface raiders joining the fray. Lost like 16 merchants in one turn. All I build is basically MM and Escorts and some replacements.

In France the German are going for conquest not Vichy. Spy reports from Berlin claim that the Axis is going to do something different than usual. Makes me think invade UK. But not that many turns of good weather left this year. But maybe clean up the Mediterranean winter 40/41 invade England in 41 or no invade just keep up pressure in the Atlantic and just invade USSR in 42. Scary days for the UK but Uncle Joe in Russia is happier.

France finally give up. Forgot screenshot but Malta is under supplylockdown. Very effient as the effectiveness drop very fast so dont think I will be able to hold Malta long. Also fairly big commitment in Egypt like 5 German corps and 3 Italian.

Also made a big mistake. had an invasion force to take Vichy Syria. Then I realised there will be no Vichy and I thought Syria turned Free French so I moved away the units only to find that Syria is now German and the only thing stopping a flood of units coming into syria is the RN and 1 air unit. That mistake might well cost me the Middle east live and learn .

Only consolation will get the French navy to hunt raiders with guess thats something if i have the oil

.

Thanks again for starting this up. Just catching up. Air battles must be nuts. So much for mission only mode. Germany alone has lost 180 aircraft or about 9 air units so around 2250 PP while UK has lost 6.67 so about 1700 PP. Pressure from the subs, 92 MM so 920 PP lost is tough on UK for sure (luck is on Malkarma's side at the moment). It looks like Malkarma may be going for a quick knock out blow. UK's navy and air will need to step up to protect the home front while it's troops strengthen. You may lose Africa if he has Syria in force. Syria invasion seems to be the Axis go to strategy for the extra oil for Barbarossa along with the invasion of Vichy to protect the French/Spanish border from Allied invasion through Portugal. It will be interesting to see if/when he invades Yugoslavia and Greece or if he decides to bypass and go for Russia from below and across. On a positive note, your defense of France was excellent. The time lost there may hurt him when he turns towards the bear. Well played by both.

Yes building up the UK goes really soso. But German losses also fairly big so hope for a Barbarossa maybe not at max strength. Malkarmas strategy I really dont know what it will be. Exciting times ahead .

I blame partly for playing so fast. i had left a UK fleet with 2 CVs in Plymouth. Not a goog idea when a large part of the Luftwaffe is in France. After bombing them in port both CVs almost sunk. I sailed out and launched a attack on Brest which damaged 2 subs and scharnhorst. In the following Axis turn one CV and mayba a CA was sunk and I retreat to Glasgow.

Luckily the French fleet arrived so I have a good amount of ships but one less CV.

Not that much happening. I notice buildup in Ireland I think maybe the German government want more Guiness.

On the seas RN in vain try to find some German raiders.

As expected Ireland is attacked. But maybe a bit ambitious. I can easily send a British corps to Ireland and we are in bad weather season and with some port blockade supply from Belfast should be firly limited but we will see. Maybe it is a trap to draw units from mainland UK.

And no sign of a build up in the east. Next turn November if you want to launch an invasion in May there are not that long to go and it does take some time to shift over to the east.

Not much going on in Egypt but a daring raid in proud Royal Navy tradition the navy sails into Tobruk harbour and sinks an aircraft unit still onboard the transports. A good catch also less transports if the idea is to maybe invade the UK later.

But the following axis turn the whole airforce bombed the navy and sank the Malaya and damaged a few others. Landbased air is wreaking havoc in both games.

On Ireland not much going on. I hope to hold it at least until good weather returns.

Blockade of Belfast kind of works as most transports into the harbour with units get some fairly significant damage.

Land an arm corps in Ireland to bolster defense.

Otherwise looking at losses land is not that bad air is ok but MM 102 in oct 40 is a lot. UK nor Canada is building anything else than MM and Escorts. No offensive building at all. Strat bombers forget it. At least the subs take some damage from escorts and by some luck I have only lost 2 escorts but those raiders are making my hair more grey than it already is . Not sure but maybe the odds of finding them need to go up a little bit. The removal of 20 oil is also pretty harsh if you want the Royal Navy out to sea to try and find them.
