I have just taken Krakow, Lodz and Warzaw in a pbem game, but instead of surrendering, I get a message that the polish government is in exile. But I don´t know where. They got poznan and has taken konigsberg, so do I need to take both these cities before they surrender?

Also with france how many cities do I need to take before they surrender?

Each country has victory point cities. Add those points up for cities you control and compare to the country morale breakpoint on the diplomacy screen, to determine when/if the country will surrender.

Not all cities are victory cities. I don't have the game up right now, but think victory cities are colored dark brown or some such? For instance, Poland has 4 victory cities, I believe.

Actually there have been several prior threads on this subject. Do a search back in this forum.

It was poznan I needed. It is just impossible to see if a city is a green or brown production center, when there is a unit in the hex. Hope maybe it can be listed in the game notes, which cities counts as victory points, or maybe put an asterix next to a cities name on the map to identify it.

There's a kotkey/button for showing terrain only.

I think he means a hot key that removes all units so you see the map
