...I think the player should get a message (or a 'vid') to that effect. "A new [ASSET] has been built in [CITY] at hex [HEXCOORDS]. It just seems like that is important info to have. Somebody, like me, might have forgotten that construction was ongoing.

Along the same lines, it would be nice to get an alert of some sort when the city independently builds a thing. I must admit, it would add a lot of flavor to the game to find out that the city had built a new brothel that turn. Giving you a sense of that Distant Worlds-like living breathing world.

There ya go.

Supporting this idea.

We could keep an eye on the management screen every turn to check if an asset was build, but a simple message in the letterbox of the reports screen would be nice.

Agreed. Would prefer in the letterbox than a vid screen. That would be a lot to click through every turn.

Hi, thanks for the replies. I would vote for the vid screen because it's positive, immediate feedback. No looking for it on another screen. It's a reward you get for doing a good thing.

If eventually too many Assets were built on the same turn resulting in a lot of vids, you could just change the format:

The following Assets have finished construction and are ready to go:

Asset 1....
Asset 2....
etc.

Equally

The following Private Assets were finished this turn:

Thing 1
Thing 2
etc.

I really want to get a sense of a living breathing world where things are going on around me that I'm not doing.
