Hi there,

I just picked up the game on Steam and everything is working well, however I'm having one minor display issue which is giving my eyes grief: everytime I mouse over a unit name (Rifle Squad etc) the text flickers like mad.

Any idea what is causing that and how I can fix it? I haven't seen it happen in some youtube videos I've checked.

Am playing on windows 10 and have tried the various options both in game and within Windows Compatibility Tab.

Hi,

This also happens on my game I don't know if its a game problem.

Do you have any frame rate drop during a night battle when using the flare or having any light on the map?

If yes maybe the night battle frame rate drop and the flickering name is correlated.

The names are supposed to flash when you hover over the unit to increase visibility. However the rate of flickering in the old engine was based on frame rate and needed to be dialed back a bit. That was done in a recent update but perhaps that did not make it into the release version of The Longest Day. I will need to check this. If not it should be updated soon.

Thanks for clarifying/checking!

On my part I was playing Gateway to Caen after and noticed the flashing name there too so assumed it was a feature not a big, but its much slower in that game. The one in Longest Day is flashing super fast and is a bit intense on the eyes! (Also I said I was on Steam earlier but actually I'm now on GOG - although still the same issue.)

A patch or hotfix would be amazing if at all possible.

Hi,

I have the same problem on LSA. I reached to find something acceptable for my eyes when reducing the Max Frame Rate to 20 in my Nvidia configuration for this program.
(don't forget to set the scroll speed to fast after it).

Maybe the simplest thing to do for this problem in the next patch is to make the Units' label in only one colour?

WAR is the same as TLD and LSA. So if/when a patch is created please create it for all three of these CC releases.
