For scenario designers, this site may come in handy.

opentopomap.org

✅ Modern road and rail networks
✅ topography
✅ Extent of towns and cities

❓ Full extent of forestation
❓ Many placenames are in the local language. Not sure if that can be tweaked by a setting.

Thanks for the link! I love maps, this one is fascinating. I like the "local language" use for map locations. More immersive that way.

Going to use this to think about revisiting my "To the Rescue" scene (a Vilikiye Luki scene involving Soviet skitroops versus a Nazi troop train bearing an Important Leader of the Germans.)

A great find! Thanks for posting. That zoom in-zoom out is crazy!

I am addicted to topo maps. I still have my Fulda Gap maps from my days in Germany, and my acetate covered field map of An Loc...

Looking good.
I've been looking around too lately.
Try viamichelin.com too. On the outdoors setting.

We used to go on vacation on these Michelin maps in the past
