How do you add anti-aircraft batteries in the editor?

Not in the editor right now, so on the top of my head: the map edit option. You can enter a name for a hex there, a port value and AA value.

All right, I'll have a go. I was searching around without finding anything.

Do you know if the Molotov-Ribbentropp Pact is hardcoded? I cleared all events in the scenario folder, thinking that would erase all such things, but it always triggers.

Have you loaded this empty script in your scenario? If you don't, the old events are still part of the scenario. The game does not look for the events text file while playing, you load it at scenario creation.

Blast. Should I put all the text files in the "New Scenario Scripts" into the scenario folder? I never even noticed that, only the graphics folder.

As far as I can tell, you put your script files in the directory with the exact same name as the scn file. Then when you open the scn file in the Editor and press load scripts (in the File/Quit menu), it loads all the script stuff you put in there. The scripts then become part of the scn file. As far as I know you can even remove the scripts from the directory after that; the game doesn't actively look for them any more during play. It only does so for the graphic png files; they are not loaded into the scn file permanently.

All this is how I understand it after doing some modding myself.

When you load scripts it wipes them all out and checks for the files in the named campaign folder. It loads those. Then go through the debug log to find any errors.

I will tell you to generally use my scripts and slowly modifying them and checking them. Be thorough. Scripting takes a long time and a lot of patience. I have been working on the Japanese plans for the 1st 6 months of the war in the Pacific now for a month. That's how hard it is to balance. This is due to the internal A.I. following it's own logic which at times can go off the rails. And yes it is the same for SC3.

Scripts are scary. Always.

I have the empty text files in the proper scenario. Apart from the scenario description file, where I delete the present text and write something else. Going to the editor I click load scripts. Then I save and exit. But when opening the scenario the old text is still there, so apparently the vanilla script is still in operation.

I managed to prevent the M-R pact, however.

I want to beef up the importance of Danzig. How do I change the values in that hex?

Political value (surrender value, or what it's called).

I am not sure what you mean, but look under the Resource button and click on the icons on the left of the screen. You will see values like morale, production, etc. associated with that resource.
Is that what you were looking for?

But beware, many of these resources have already been used on the map of course. Changing their value will only affect future placements of the changed resource on the map. I would strongly suggest to not mess with the exising ones. You can add custom resources in unused slots instead. That's what I did for Scorched Earth. Check them out by starting Scorched Earth in the editor, then you will get the idea.

Yeah, I now I'm being vague, and I think that, considering my limited knowledge about this, Danzig just isn't worth the effort.

Presently, I'm struggling with a freeze. I start the scenario on Axis, click for the Allied turn (AI), and immediately gets "Production and repair: No units remaining to execute orders". Going back to an earlier save and it is fine. So I change some strength, add some units in home countries and move some to other locations. Saving and opening the game and the game hungs again. No idea what this might be.

My knowledge of the editor has improved a lot lately. So I can give Danzig a try, if you specify exactly what you want it to be like.
Send me you scenario file and specs and I could give it a shot.

Thanks, but presently I'm stuck with the freeze. Are you proficient enough to find and understand errors?

Actual program errors are of course Alvaro's domain, but looking at a scenario and trying to find out what causes the error is always an option. You may have done something perfectly legal, yet the game hangs on it anyway. So it may be a bug.

The editor enables you to do a lot, but is not very user friendly. It needs some tender loving care, IMHO.

I suppose so. Well, I'm now past the freeze problem; went back a save and only did minor changes. Maybe I should stop there. Must dash for work now, but when I'm home again, knowing the freeze wasn't about Danzig, I will look for the things you mentioned.

What country (time zone) are you in?
