Have anyone performed these? I have a million questions.

1. How to land when there are minefields?
2. How much force is needed to dislodge an infantry division? A large corps?
3. What's an example of a successful invasion? No, Norway does not count, against real opposition.

Thanks

You can only do amphibious assaults onto beachheads, not directly onto an enemy occupied hex. From the beachhead you move against the enemy.

You absolutely have to have air and naval control of the invasion area if you are to succeed. Enemy air and naval forces within interdiction range can destroy your invasion forces, and even if they don't do that, can interdict supply into any captured port or interdict followup forces.

I suggest reading some of the AARs to see successful and failed assaults.

I've done DDay against the AI, and several times have done North Africa, Sicily, and Italy amphibious assault campaigns PBEM. In no case would I attempt it if I wasn't pretty sure I could take a major port on the first turn of the assault. That takes a lot of preparation in terms of logistics and air attacks in the turns leading up to the invasion, and clearing the sea area.

Combat odds need to be very good to ensure taking of a port.
