Can anyone confirm, does the boxed version come with a printed manual? I really prefer a printed manual to a PDF file.

I believe the manual is out of print. I saw something to that effect, a couple of months ago, on the Matrix game site....GP

Ok thanks for the reply. I guess I could have someone print out the PDF file if I wanted. Might be rather expensive though.

The forum is the best place to get answers, not the manual.

And you can search a PDF. Try that with the printed manual. The index leaves a lot to be desired.

When WiTPAE went out, you even got your name printed on disc, but IIRC there were two versions of box, one with, and one without manual.

Anyway, 99% of the time, I only use it for tables, and the ones in manual tends to be divided very inefficient. You would do better to find redone tables on this forum, and print them.

For the games nice prize at the moment, one can surely spend some cash to print the manual. If one does not want to do it himself, put it on an USB stick and go to a copyshop it does not cost the world really...

And get good binding. I have the original manual and the pages are separating from the glue in places. I have to be very careful not to open it too wide.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I'm sure i'll have many questions once I get into the game. Trying to get the game to run smoothly first. Loaded it up last night and everything was very laggy. I saw a post in the tech forum about slow performance and adding switches. I will give that a try. I want to take a good look at the manual too before i really get started. Again thanks for the help. The official explanation of the switches is at the top of the readme file for the latest patch, not in the manual.

One that may not be mentioned there is that you can use the -pxf and -pyf switches to force a bigger window than standard,to take advantage of new larger (pixel size) screens.

There is an active thread on screen resolution at the moment.

Edit: Get the latest beta patch (linked to a sticky post in the forum) as well. It has some significant improvements to the latest official patch.

I got the manual when I bought the game and it was a huge help. Having something to grab and reference was great. The Forum took care of everything else as well as playing Head-to-Head with a real opponent.
