This does look somewhat odd at first glance, but I am no expert in remembering the abbreviations shown in the combat panel, especially when 'LAA' doesn't even appear as one of them in the manual, section 3.5.5.1. I believe there was a post at one time that explained the combat abbreviations and odds calculations? If so, I can't find it... I understand the +25% for a prepared attack, but I also understand from reading the manual, that the odds could be even worse for the attacker, if artillery is involved, as it is not factored into the combat predictions as indicated in the manual, section 6.6.4.1. So these two examples could be even worse. An other curious aspect is that both defensive units have no entrenchment level... Also, and maybe this may help to explain things, the first example is an infantry unit versus a mechanized unit, and in the second example, the Romanian army has a bit of experience... C
