ini files and updated scenarios

Post by DWReese »

Situation:

A scenario was created in 2016.

An ini file for that scenario was created to accompany it. (As we know, ini files are designed to keep ammo levels (weapon mounts) where the designer wanted them.)

The scenario designer later updates the scenario in 2019.

Question:

Do you use the updated 2019 scenario by itself, or do you use the updated 2019 and then apply the ini file?

It's my belief that the ini file, if it was created BEFORE the scenario was updated, is not necessary and could actually mess the updated scenario up.

If my hypothesis is correct, then it is important to really pay attention to the file dates.

Thoughts? Observations?

You may be correct, it depends on what the designer did. Good drill is to update the .ini when you update the scenario.

If in doubt go to the editor and build your own .ini (SBR delta template is the command i think) and apply that - just do a save-as first so you don't mess up the original and you should be fine.
