On vacation getting my google search on. I ran across this. https://www.history.navy.mil/research/library/online-reading-room/title-list-alphabetically/b/battlecruisers-in-the-united-states-and-the-united-kingdom-1902-1922.html

Wyoming class battle cruiser? I’ve not heard about this, has anyone else?

The Wyoming class were dreadnoughts, I wouldn't call them BCs, they were too slow. Just my opinion, but I think the BC concept was a good one if the ships were really fast, and I would've put 11" guns on them, not 12". They would've been CA killers in my fleet.

Stock game, late in the war the USS Arkansas appears, a Wyoming class BB, not a Battle Cruiser. 12 x 12" guns.

In reading the article, it appears more likely that it was an armor comparison being made to the Wyoming class BBs.

Wyoming was a BB in real life. From two or three articles I have read there was either a plan or thoughts of making a BC that resembled the Wyoming. The plan was to lengthen the ship, keep the same armor scheme as the Wyoming, but only have four twin 12 in turrets. Somewhere around 25-26 knot speed.

No, no, the Germans had BCs with 11" guns. The US had to have guns an inch bigger in caliber to show they were dominant. It's a guy thing!
