I am curious why these were removed from Allies side (Armament and Vehicle Factories) and wondering did anyone test this having them in their mods?

I been working on this mod for sometime, would like to add Armament and Vehicle Factories on the Allies side. Also noticed there is no engine production either.

Armament and vehicle factories are not required for production of allied
vehicles and weapons. The design is to have any needed allied devices of
these kinds added as "free builds" (or in the start pool) for each device.
Note that the start and end of production dates help manage these builds.

I did add Allied vehicle factories in places like NEI and Australia and
India to reflect actual local production. They do appear to work fine.
But they do NOT consume HI points as Japanese factories do. This makes
them similar to Allied aircraft factories - they produce aircraft WITHOUT
consuming HI points. [Or almost do. It appears that Allied Aircraft
Engines - of which there is but a single generic type - do have a live
field which gets modified - so maybe the Allies pay ONE HI point per
aircraft engine. If so, it is the ONLY use for Allied HI points. Otherwise,
Allied HI factories only produce supply points, and also of course exist
to be captured, or damaged, by the enemy.] I eventually took out the
Allied armament and vehicle factories. The designed system - dumping them
into pools - works well enough. The only reason to have some is if you want
to reduce production of specific things as a result of battle damage or
if the factory making them gets captured. But it is more work for players
to manage and these do not show up in software reports or on tracker. With
more and more people using tracker, I decided not to confuse things with
untracked factories.

Interesting, the reasons I am doing this because the Allied side, esp USA wasn't in full Industrial strength after Pearl was hit.

Re-doing the full Campaign here, noticed a lot of things doesn't feel right and decided to do some changes. Testing, etc.

Going to take me awhile to finish this up, hopefully I have this done by end of this year.

Take this with a grain of salt because it all went down WAY before my time here - but I believe the original design intent was to have the Allied production system as sophisticated as the Japanese. I'm not sure how far back this goes... maybe all the way to Uncommon Valor. At some point the decision was made not to implement the full Allied industrial production system and what we can see in the editor are the remnants of it.

Yeah I noticed there were a lot of hardware on the list. Gonna add these factories anyway, give the Allied side something to do or making it more interesting. As long there enough resources meet the demand. Some would have to be transported by sea.

Also noticed that armament and vehicle factories are hidden when I add them in Soviet Union, so I don't know if this is working or not. So may well remove it.

According to the Manual, and to Andrew Brown in Forum remarks, this is not the case. That is,
the Japanese can control their economy, but the Allies cannot. The Allied players are MILITARY
commanders who do NOT make strategic decisions. MOST Allied production is NOT on the map. So
the Allied team gets what it gets and needs to manage that. Only the Japanese are both strategic
planners and military commanders. And also, the Japanese economy is vastly smaller - less than
10% of the US alone - and it isn't facing the US alone. But much of the Allied effort is not directed
at Japan. So the "conscious decision" was to let the Japanese manage the economy - and at the
same time - let the Allies have the ability to damage it by attacks or to cut it off from the resources
(etc) needed to produce. This was never an option for the Allies in any case.
