Post by MrKane »

Nov 10, 42

Well game is quite boring. Mike has run into buses and he still refuse to look out :(
1942/1943 auto-victory is now inevitable. However due pre-game agreement we will continue game further.

I have in my hands PM, Horn Island, Suva, Noumea and other small islands on south pacific.

In China Mike have retreated all armies to Chungking and managed to hold for 3 moths. City has fall last turn with record looses for Chinese army. I have never seen such huge losses before in this game, so I am going have good red wine tonight :D

How many VPs does that translate into after the turn?

I do not have VPs numbers exactly from turn before, but it was 23K+. Now VPs numbers are: 27227(Jap) and 6037(Ally), Ratio 4.510. It looks like gain is around 4K. Additional bonus is that all 18 Divisions !!! and all tank regiments !!! are now with experience level 99.

Those are going to be tough to move later.

He'd have been much better off sticking a bunch of the Chinese in the mountains, a few in every hex, and letting you wade through for a year or two. Might have even been left with a few in the end. The mechanism for retreat when there is no base available to move toward means they'd just sit until absolutely wiped out, usually.

I think you should use some of those (after buying) and take Karachi. Then the rest of India. I don't think it's been done, so why not? [;)]

Agreed. Incredible outcome.

[&o][&o][&o]

Taking Karachi would be so cool. Then take out SOV. [:D][:D][:D]

Having All of ASIA would be a real new HIGH mark for the IJ.

28th Nov 1942

Still very little activity from Allied side. But generally I believe Mike will try one more time to retake PM and Horn Island before he will heading for DEI. ( He abandoned first attempt in September when one PBY spotted KB near Woodlark Island. There is a lot of ships and LCUs in Townsville. All protected by over 600 fighters - all allies fighters ???.

36 Ki-43-IIb from 50th Sentai(Port Moresby) went to sweep base twice at Nov 26 and Nov 28. Result was not very encouraging, I have lost 15 fighters and 7 pilots for destroying 18 only Allied fighters.

36 G4M1 from 751 Kuk escorted by A6M2 from 202, 204, 252 Kuk raided Cooktown at Nov 28. They managed to destroyed on airfield 8-9 patrol planes without any resistance.

30-40 B-24 from Brisbane raided Noumea at Nov 28. 36 A6M3a from Chitose Kuk manged to shoot down 3 bombers, additionally 1 was shoot down by AA. However airfield is damaged(21) and I have lots there 3 recon/patrol planes.
After attack I have moved to base 251 Kuk(45 A6M3a) to help protect base.

Aren't you playing Japan and isn't this 1942? Nukes? Is this a John III mod?
