New BattleTech game boxes came available more than month ago and hopefully those have gone around the world by now. Video review of them and beginner's impressions

The general "Game of Thrones meets Mad Max in space" mood is still very powerful.

Be advised, "full game" consist of several rule books. Books in question are:
Total Warfare
TechManual
Tactical Operations
Strategic Operations
Interstellar Operations
Campaign Operations

In addition are other rule books:
BattleMech Manual (redundant with Total Warfare and Tactical Operations)
Total Chaos (may be redundant with Campaign Operations)
Alpha Strike
Whatever comes with the box sets

On top of that, some of the scenario, campaign, and source books may have rules on their own. Starterbook: Sword and Dragon is a scenario/campaign book which has experimental/prototype equipment that differs from "normal" equipment in rule books. Experimental ER Large Laser generates random amount of heat when fired, determined with a die roll. Same book also has rules for a simple dynamic campaign.
