There are two strategies for doing the Lwow operation. One of them is a textbook example of marching forwards and destroying everything you see.

The other one is more tricky. As 1st Panzer group rolls forwards, you pull back your southern flank; the enemy, having grown up with stories by Arkadiy Gaidar and the just seen the
Tractor Drivers movie, will of course throw in at least half of his tanks. This strategy is also doable, in the worst case, 4th Monuntain will have a few rough days, but full strength infantry divisions can hold the line as long as they are ell managed and resupplied.

What are the gains of this strategy?

1. Propaganda value! Army Group North reports Soviet offensive against Ebenrode and activity near Klaipeda (Memel) on day 1 and at the same time Army Group South is advancing in all directions? The attack on Lwow can be held for a few days, there is still time to complete the operation.
2. This move will lure the soviet forces into Lwow area so you will not have to chase them all the way to Rovno.
3. There is a possibility that the Soviets bring a couple of tank divisions in Lwow area, which can be encircled an destroyed there. (There is no such thing as encircled and captured in the game but you can always use your imagination.)

Both strategies are doable and with some experience you can achieve the same result. In one case you will have two encircled divisions in Lwow; in the other the Soviets will still hold Brody and Dubno when you destroy more than 400 points.
