The forum is extremely slow, for me, today. Almost impossible to post. And to open threads.

Got this from Slitherine forum earlier today. Apparently the sale has created more traffic than they were prepared to handle.

For some reason this sale has kicked off enormous traffic to the servers - way more than last year and we're trying to get things upgraded to cope.
You may have to be patient and try again later. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Their losing out on my impulse buys:) Hopefully they also publish a PDF version of their sales like they have done in year's past...makes it way easier to find things you might like.

Since they didn't post a PDF, I'm guessing everyone is hammering the store/site. Someone should have forseen that.

A high volume event like a sale is the worst time to upgrade a web site.

This place is getting like Steam during a big sale. Steam is normally unreachable at the start of a big sale. Imagine my surprise when Steam is fine and it's Matrix who are having site access problems.

I really wish there was a sale catalogue PDF.

Thew pdf was planned for today so will be out soon. The site hardware was upgraded to cope with the sudden sale traffic, not before the sale (that would be stupid!). The web team have been up all night trying to tweak things to keep it running but its not simple on the old code base and we're hoping to have a new modern site soon - cant be soon enough.

We think things are running smoother this morning but still working to improve it. Sorry for any inconvenience and thanks for you patience.

It's working a little better for me, but still sputters every now and then. Although great that PDF is on its way today, just seems like that should have been the default at launch. Since there are so many sale items, not really efficient to surf through all the shop pages to find what you might be looking for. But regardless, we should be thankful that these types of sales exist and go through January.....just for impulse people like me, this gave me too much time to think so we'll see what I end up with (if anything) :)

We would have had it all ready normally but we had a major press event on Monday that sucked up a lot of time and we're in the middle of a major transition on the fulfillment side. More news on that soon. It all conspired to put us behind schedule on preparations for the sale.

I agree. Was just looking at the prices. Quite impressed. It is a shame I already have too many games and was trying to figure out this morning what I wanted to have a go at today. I mean do I play some CMANO or Armored Brigade, or do I go back to the game of Decisive Campaigns - The Blitzkrieg from Warsaw to Parish that I started earlier this week. So many choices. And I have this turned-based preference, but CMANO is just so good and Armored Brigade, well I was a Cold Warrior who spent five years in West Germany. So maybe get back into Flashpoint Campaigns. Sigh. But kudos to Matrix.
