just curiosity really, but any idea why the Royal Thai Air Force was not implemented in game?

was it to avoid the possibility of Japan producing P-36s?

obviously is not a game breaker

interesting story though, Thailand has definitively an interesting history; sandwiched between main powers and local rivals. Many (small scale) wars against almost all of them

My Bottlenecks mod includes the Thai Air Force - and Navy - from skyland's mod, with his kind permission.

There can only be two Axis nations. To fudge the issue by including the Thai Air Force would not look very professional in a commercial product. Modders, who are not producing a commercial product which is sold to the public, can get away with a less professional look.

But what about INA, Manchukuo forces, Thai land units, and Chinese, or Mongolian Collaborators?

LCUs use generic templates which obscure the fudge.  Plus those LCUs were for practical purposes non distinguishable from IJA Command and Control.

Air units do not use generic templates and the equipment cannot be obscured when fudged.

Putting aside the fudge issue for the moment, the amount of work required to create a separate Thai air force is simply not worth it.  There are repercussions in the industrial production design part of the game.  The use of the air units would be totally ahistorical with much more severe ramifications than any historical misuse of Thai infantry (or the Viet Minh if spawned).

AE does not stand for Axis Everywhere.  There are no fudged Italian or German naval assets and they had arguably a much more substantive role in the PTO than the Thais which really only provided flavour.

Developers of commercial products make commercial decisions and simply must put out professional product which caters to the market generally.  The editor is there for modders to delude themselves that they produce professional output.  Very few private mods would ever actually be sold for money and the criticism of the output would significantly increase if money changed hands.

RHS includes every element of those "third party" factors, sometimes by name only, but their nations factors are fairly replicated within code for the mod....for both sides.

A lot of research went into it over the years since Sid first started working on it.

His actual "line of work" has given him a few sources of info many of us might not be able to obtain otherwise.
