Ok guys here is the next one. Actually stepping back a few days to fill in some gaps.

Northern Fury 33: Into the Night!

This scenario is playable by NATO only:



During the fast-moving Soviet drive to the south of Norway, many small pockets of Norwegian soldiers, home guard, loyal citizens and rugged outdoorsman were left behind. Some have been rounded up and either incarcerated or killed, some have fled to Sweden, and some have frozen to death in the rugged mountains. But most have organized themselves into a very effective force of partisans which have caused significant disruption in the Soviet rear area. This force is centered on the famous Telemark Battalion, which was screening for Brigade Nord when the Soviets bypassed them with airmobile assaults. The battalion simply headed for the mountains, collected every able bodied civilian and straggler they could find and started attacking the Soviets vulnerable logistics links. After a month of this 'cat and mouse' game, STRIKFLETLANT has decided that they would be a valuable source of intelligence and assistance for upcoming operations, and wants to reinforce them with Special Forces (SOF), communications equipment and information. To this end your task is to insert several SOF teams into Norway’s far north. The Soviets wouldn’t suspect a thing!

Starting this now.... I'm curious... is there any in game benefit to deploying the teams at night versus the middle of the afternoon?

You'll need to assess your opposition, but as a minimum you will be obscuring yourself from random freighters, transport planes and wandering shore patrols - if they're out there.

FYI, I get a LUA script execution error. [string "submarine detected"]:12: 'end' expected (to close 'if' at line 11) near after Event 'Submarine detected' has been fired.



Specifically:

It's okay... it freaked me out when I got detected, I was too focused in the Northern fjords that I didn't even see the Jacksonville had decided to start cavitating all over the place. I'm guessing that's why. Now I'm wondering if the [SPOILER REDACTED] has a friend.

Don't forget about the random start for the Sov's.

What the detection event should have done was put a bunch of Sov Mi-14's into the mix.

Same error on WP ship sunk event. Would that have been part of the same script that you fixed?

Okay... I have reached a point in the scenario that is kinda sorta AWESOME, but I don't want to spoil it out in the public... but I have some questions. Would you prefer that I ask them in PM or out in the open here and I just preface my posts with a Spoiler tag?

Also, I don't think the code for the Nordcapp decision is correct - I can't find a way to choose between the special actions.

Must have been a bit to tired when I finished this one up. This should fix the gremlins. SOF B works for me, SOF A is fixed, points are fixed for SOF E. Both special actions now activate.

I still can't get "Polk at evacuation site" to trigger. Does it trigger if you've inserted all of the other SOF?

No, its independent of that.

I'll have some time tonight to play with it. That event just triggered for me so there must be something else wrong.

Will get back at it once I've beaten the wolverines away

Hi Gunner!

After 4 tries I finally was able to crack it. You have to be very very sneaky and very very patient! On my last try after dropping off the last troops I some how dodged a swarm of helos and a few fixed wing also(over the several hours it took to get out in open waters)! Any weapons release is foolish and the special action adds a very nice element. Planning the sequence and timing of your troop drops is very critical as well. Had plenty of time to accomplish everything but the pressure to stay undetected was huge!

This is a very nicely made scenario as usual!

I was using the latest version and had no issues with actions or events.
