This is part of the Allied shipping route to the Philippines. I believe I have stopped all convoys headed in, but I have let quite a few ships escape headed to the east and away from the Philipines.

INVADED
Invested: Taung Gyi.

CHANGED OWNERSHIP
Saidor is occupied by the Allies

Overall

• Enemy carriers 6 hexes west of Peleliu, heading NE.

West Coast USA, Alaska, Hawaii

Pacific

• The Yorktowns will refuel tomorrow east of Wake, the day after the invasion forces will head for Marcus.

• The enemy carriers might be on hand for Marcus, but today we see additional submarines heading for the battle fleet from the Marianas. The Empire must think the target is Truk: good. The battle fleet will head east tomorrow and move to support the Marcus invasion.

New Zealand, Australia, New Caledonia, New Hebrides, Solomons, Papua New Guinea, New Britain

• The accretive liberation of Papua New Guinea continues.

DEI, Dutch New Guinea, Borneo, Malaya

• Our flood of carrier hunting subs will find other targets.

Frank A is a poor sweeper, at least compared to the George. I have no idea on the relative pilot quality though.

KB operating in and around the SRA is basically free fuel. Getting it to steam around the Central Pacific starts to stretch Japan's fuel logistics.

Which I guess extends to KB's cruises in the Indian Ocean since it didn't go deep. I am going to give them cause to remain more north from now on.

New Zealand, Australia, New Caledonia, New Hebrides, Solomons, Papua New Guinea, New Britain

• Landing at this one base should yield us three without fighting.

DD Blue was the DD on watch at Guadalcanal when the Japanese came in and sank those Heavy Cruisers right after the initial invasion and before the transports left.

INVADED
Invested: Taung Gyi.

CHANGED OWNERSHIP
Dobadura is occupied by the Allies

Overall

• No carrier Intel.

West Coast USA, Alaska, Hawaii

Pacific

• There are now 4 subs heading in behind our fleet, aiming to sit on the route between marcus and Wake; Likewise 4 subs have appeared at Marcus where none were seen yesterday. This invasion fleet does not have separate ASW TF's and it will be several days before some arrive on station.

Tonight one OBB TF will bombard and RTB to Kawajalein, hopefully avoiding the swarm of subs. The fleet will take up station 1 hex W of Marcus.

• 5 Nells on search were destroyed by CAP today. The fleet of course is well spotted, but not all task forces are seen. Most importantly, our two CVE TF's are spotted and one of our CV TF's; perhaps the Empire will underestimate our air strength on scene?

• 4x Mavis, 3x Nell, and 2x Emily shot down on search. The results of the ground assault were both surprising and disappointing, but seeing only 14 AV currently present on the enemy side is encouraging. Our troops are 43% and 65% fatigued plus 90% and 70% disrupted. The two units have more than 90 AV disabled (plus artillery and support). They also have lots of supply, and over stacking is 38% so supply draw will be large but not horrible. More than 8,300 supply remains on the transports which can be unloaded when the assault resumes.

The fleet will move 2 hexes east to evade submarine attacks. There is one APA capable of making only 2 knots:

APA Calvert runs onto reef while attempting to unload at Marcus Island

Calvert will break off with one DD and make a crawl for it.

• Detection levels of our submarines N and NW of the northern Marianas makes me suspect enemy carriers there, so the TF of 8 subs will break apart to join others on patrol there. Our fleet jinking 2 hexes east might be unexpected. BTW, South Dakota's damage is 20-11(6)-2-0, so she won't break off right away.

New Zealand, Australia, New Caledonia, New Hebrides, Solomons, Papua New Guinea, New Britain

• We get one, they get one.

Query:

Was there a change made where it is no longer possible to load troops onto subs? I have a para unit at Manus and I wich to load it onto some SST to make a landing on a dot base. Is that no longer allowed?
