Elementary Question about Carrier Air Attacks

Sorry for the elementary question.

I have not played with convoys and submarines a lot. Now I'm trying to rid my shipping lanes of subs and my carriers won't attack them with air units. I don't see anything in the manual on how carrier air attacks work and when you can use them.

Check the weather. It's probably raining or a storm?

You probably know this, but also make sure that your carriers are set to Naval Mode. If not they can still attack, but to little effect.

Good to know. The Soviets don't have any CVs. My mod doesn't use them very much. I need to practise more with them.
