Anyone seen the Reinforce Rommel event happen? I can't find it in the manual. Had it happen as Allies in June, 1941 (never saw it as Germans). It adds a Panzer, Infantry, Parachute, Tac Bomber and HQ to Germans in Africa. And to make it worse (for Allies), all have 2 points of experience!

Haven't seen it either as Axis or Allies - understandable as Axis as he didn't need any reinforcing

I've not seen that either - but what difficulty level are you playing on? Maybe it only triggers at certain difficulty levels? I'm playing on Intermediate

You saying it only happened when playing the Allies makes me wonder if this is similar to what I have experienced. The programme seems to give more units to the AI (seen it with the British, the Russians and the Americans). No mention of the extra units in the manual. I suspect that its the same for the Germans.

Just a guess based on what I've seen.

If the Axis hold Paris on June 1, 1941, there is a 25% chance that the Axis AI [only] gets these extra units at Benghazi.

Yeah ive seen this this when playing as the Allies on even settings, it was a bit of a shock to see two Panzergruppe in North Africa

I see it almost every time when playing as the allies and the Axis is set to +2.

It's very rough. Part of the reason you need to cheese the USA and bring it in early. I have them land in NA in 1941 to offset this event.

Presumably at lower difficulties the AI doesn't always feel it can afford this commitment.

Nothing to do with Difficulty Level.

This is after 6 or so such games.

Very bad luck indeed. The odds of this happening 5 times in a row are low. Low enough that I question the rule as written. .25 to the 5th power = .0009765. That's pretty long odds.

Shrug. I get this is what the script says, but I also know what is happening in my games. And what is happening is that at higher levels, the event fires off far more often than 25% of the time.


Maybe I am just unlucky this way.

Looking at the script posted above, it has just a 25% chance of firing per game, so Flaviusx has been unlucky in encountering it more times.
