It works fine now. By the way, my wife does support me in my war game habit. In fact she drives me to the AEA ( Admiral Edition Anonymous) meetings. I bring the waffles.....GP

DOCUP, From a brief look, looks good. Couple things;
1. Allied Shils file was not in the new download.
2. I'm not sure but I think the Air art needs to be installed in the filmstrips before someone who DL's the mod can use it.

I'm going to run a few turns and see what pops....GP

OK, After running a few turns to see how things run, I have found a couple of things;
1. The new Base Forces could use a few engineers. The one I found was an OZ unit near PM.
2. Huntington class CVL's do not have a Bit Map Picture.
3. The japanese have a aircraft named "Corsair". If possible, please change the name.
4. This is the big one. All of the air units show up on the mouse over for a base, But when clicking on, or opening the airbase screen a vast majority of the air units present do not show unit in the list. I'm not sure if its a corrupt file or something that happened in the upload to dropbox.
5. Looks like this could be a FUN one.

Do to time limitations, I can retest after these and other testers issues are resolved....GP

GP: Thanks for looking at it. I have just updated with the new art files and some fixes that you suggested.

Yes, Thailand had a plan named the V-93S Corsair, No where close to the real Corsair. CVL Huntingtons art is working fine for me. I have read that the art work doesn't need to be in the filmstrip. Now if you have other air craft in that slot you may get another plane showing up. The last time I put planes in the strip I corrupted everything and had to start over.

The planes not showing up at bases has to be a corrupted file. I hope if not I don't know whats wrong. It all looks good on my end.

Also, I am going to play it for awhile. Unless I find or other people problems there will not be anymore updates. I do want people to comment on the game. I really want some Japanese players make some suggestions.

Thanks

Well, I found some mistakes that needed to be fixed. I have been busy with some real life issues. With these issues, I have had time to looks stuff up and think. I was thinking, I can alter the WNT. Say the first WNT is a failure. A year or two later it is reconvened. Japan can get 2 Tosa's or Kii's. I was thinking of adding the 2 Tosa's then replacing the 3 battleships I have labeled as Fujimotos (built in the early 1930s) with 3 Kii class BB's. This would give Japan 4 BB's of 26 Knot or faster with 16in guns, and 3 BB's of 30 knot and 16in guns at the start of the game. Add these to the 7 BC/CBs with 30 knot or greater in service also. Or I can keep the 3 Fujimoto's at 27 knot and 16in guns.

Now if I add the Tosa's I will add the Washington and 2 1920 South Dakota's. The SD's will get the same upgrades as the Colorado's, but a tad faster (around 29 knots). With the SD's the US battle line will have the slow old BBs with 4 BB's 27knot, 2 BB's 29 knots, with 3 BC/CB at 30 knot plus.

I like adding the Tosa's and the Kii's for the early 30s instead of the Fujimoto's. I think this would fit better with what could of happened in this time line.

Thoughts please?

I have decided not to add the BBs.

Is anyone else having issues with the plane art?

I've added a few things to the change log that I have remembered.

Still here. I am working on an update. I have some things I want to add. I'm going to ask for some help.

I am thinking of adding some ships that never made it. They either didn't make it off the drawing board or didn't get finished. I want to add some extra things. I am in the process of adding them. I also encountered another problem. I need to get it fixed.

Cavarly: Thanks for looking at the game. Yes, I am working on a patch. General Patton is right I do have different art work, but they way I have it in files currently, you may be able to put it in the RA file. Also yes this is extended map. I highly recommend using Chemkids maps by the way.

GP: I am currently working on putting the planes in the plane strips. I may also put them in a file for backup reasons.

Update: I am working on art work. Looking at adding some other ships. I am still on the fence about this. I have been thinking of adding the Tosa's, South Dakota's (1920s)and a few ships that never made it. No one has picked up my Italian ship art request. I have a few other ships that I have art work for. The German WW1 BC Mackensen and Derffinger. The twist is that the Dutch bought the Mackensen for scrap prices then built them. I have also done some messing around with the Japanese ships production and looks like I might be able to add a few more ships.

I don't know just messing around.

My thoughts:

1917 Germany sues for peace. Germany still has to pay for the war, but gets a better deal. They are able to keep 125K tons of capital ships. They keep the 2 ships of the Derfflinger class battlecruisers and the 2 of the Bayern class battleship. Some of its colonial possessions are returned. Hilter still comes to power as he did in the OTL. Now he has a small navy to build on. He decides to rebuild the Far East squadron again. It's composed of the 2 aging Derfflinger battlecruisers, with it are 2 ships of the Deutschland class with escorts. Germany also builds a 40k ARD and support ships.

The Netherlands pass the fleet law of 1918 again allowing for 4 battleships. A smart Dutchman finds the 3 ships of the Mackensen class for sale at scrap prices. They buy them and their new guns. These ships are towed to Dutch yards with German shipbuilders and designers. These three ships are finished by the Dutch and sent to the DEIs. These ships are modernized in the early to mid 30s (these upgrades are done by Dutch designers). These ships are intended to take on the Kongos. They decide to build a cruiser kill (1047 class). With the new BCs being deployed to the DEIs, 40k ton ARD is ordered and sent to the area. Germany sells the designs for the Scharnhorst class. They decide to build it on there own. With the knowledge that they gained from the Mackensen class. They also build a new class of light cruiser and destroyers. The cruisers and destroyers will be built and and operational before the war. The new 1047s will partially completed 2 will sail to England to be finished by early 1942.

Edit. Disclaimer. The Dutch getting the Mackensen was not my idea I read that somewhere.

The WNT was postponed until April of 1922. By this time the 4th Colorado class BB was nearly completed, along with several other battleships of the US and Japanese navies. An extra stipulation was added allowing Britian, Japan, and the US to build 2 battleships up to 44k tons.

The Japanese decide in the late 1920s to upgrade all their battleships to 26 knots.

The US realize they are behind in the early 1930s and scramble to catch up. Staying withi. The WNT they decide to upgrade the Colorado and the South Dakota class battleships. These ships are upgraded or still being upgraded when the war starts. All 6 ships will get a boost in speed the Colorados will have a 100 ft added along with new boilers, armor, and AA guns. The South Dakotas would have roughly the same upgrade. The Dakotas will still be upgrading when the war starts.

The Italian BCs Livorno and a sister ship was sailing around Italy's African colony when Italy entered the war. These ships start to raid shipping around Africa. Once the British take Italy's colonies in east Africa these ships take off for Indian Ocean. Hoping to reach the relative safety of the pacific.

Any thought or comments.

What about the effects on the Soviet Union? 1917 is before the Treaty of Brest-Litovsk, which cost Russia about a quarter of the population and industry of what the Russian Empire had possessed. (e.g. Ukraine became an independent nation, until the German surrender undid the treaty.)

Russia still looking into that. I am making some progress. Toss, SD, and the Dutch BB are in along with some new weapons for th new ships. I am working on the Italian ships now.

I am also toying with the idea of adding spotters in CD units to help them engage bombardment TFs. I have alway thought they were a bit anemic in shooting and hitting ships. Maybe it's just me. Thanks Sid for this.

Any chance of 109Gs or such?

Love the W.Whirlwind!!! :)

Traskott: I'm working on the ride. Some big mistakes, I made. 109G when did it go into production? Upgrades for the German and Italian ships. I didn't do any because they had no access to the fatherland. I guess I could add Japanese weapons. I like the Whirlwind, I read a few articles saying if they would of continued its development it would of worked into a really good fighter.

Paradigmblue I will tell u when I find out.

Keep the comments coming. Thanks traskott

While I'm all for adding ships for nations that doesn't have "United" in their name I do question the logic of how the Netherlands would get their hands on any of the German Mackensen ships.
First of all why would Germany want to hand them over in the first place? That would leave them with a battlecruiser force that's straight out inferior to their smaller neighbour which would seem unacceptable. I'd assume that they'd much rather finish two Mackensens for themself and scrap the Derfflingers if they would have that option, if not they'd scrap them. The only somewhat twisted logic I could see in letting the Dutch get the Mackensens would be if the Germans had concluded that the speed wasn't worth the sacrifices needed, but then they'd probably scrap both Derfflinger-class ships and finish Sachsen and Württemberg instead for themself. That would leave Germany with a slower but uniform battleship line.
The second is whether the victors would have allowed Germany to actually sell them to anyone. The ships of the Mackensen-class would be some of the most powerful ships in 1918. Now granted this isn't as big of an issue considering your treaty timeline isn't the same, but worth thinking about.

It might not matter that much for the Pacific, but I find it hard to believe that France would accept being even further behind (i.e. Japan, UK and USA gets even more battleship tonnage) than in the real world. Not only that, they'd have a Germany with four relative modern capital ships along with a Netherlands that has 3 brand new battlecruisers which are vastly superior to the best capital ships available to (real world timeline) France. Especially with the war ending earlier which presumably would leave France in a slightly better place economically and with slightly more healthy demographics.

When it comes to Russia you'd could probably still assume that it collapses, but the outcome might be very different. I could see it ending with a white Russia or an even weaker Russia (more parts break away) than in the real world timeline. I'm a bit doubtful if it would result in a stronger Russian navy though, even if that were the case you'd assume most ships would be bottled up by minefields in the Baltic or not allowed to pass the Bosphorus from the Black Sea.

Traskott: Problems fixed.

Cardas: Good point. My thoughts. Germans call for truce talks after Russia surrenders. Allies are afraid of all the troops that won't tied down by the Russians. So they go a long with the talks. Germans get some of their colonial assets back. The allies drive a hard bargain. Germans get to keep a portion of there fleet. They choose the most modern BBs and BCs and smaller ships. Germany is allowed to keep some of the lands it has conquered in Europe. They are still hit with large monetary sanctions that will lead to the Nazi's party coming to power. They are forced to destroy all new ships being built. A cunning Dutch government buy 3 Mackensens hulls at scrap metal prices along with the other equipment that went with this ship. Instead of scrapping it they hire out of work German ship designers and builders to assist in building there new capital ships.

More later.

First 109Gs were built at the first months of 1942. 109G included lot of sub-variants, from G-2 til G-12, with G-6 been the more produced 109 (12.000 aprox).

Cadras: German would have 2 Derfflingers and 2 Bayern Class BBs that would be around 120k of shipping. I have the French at 175k of shipping with about the same age of BBs.
