In my 'spare' time from WitE2.0 I'm working on an Allied what if scenario to complement 4th Supreme Command. I've added this real aircraft that Axel has done the art for. So can anyone show their expertise by telling others what it is?

Not just the prop... but the Cowling looks different than even the Hurri V ....a prototype typhoon/tempest?

Has a slight Focke Wulf look to it.

Hawker Tornado. The R (RR Vulture version) as opposed to the N (Napier Sabre) version

YEP!

Hawker Tornado

Third prototype (HG641) with Bristol Centaurus engine was a test-bed for a number of Centaurus engine/propeller combinations.

Missed the Centaurus. It might be in the database...

Yes it's the Centaurus Tornado. It's in my scenario but not in the generic data.

My scenario is based on the premise that in Aug 40 the British make big changes to engine development. The Rolls Royce (RR) Vulture and Peregrine are cancelled as is the Napier Sabre. Engine production is concentrated with RR for inlines and Bristol for Radials. Development is focussed on improving the Merlin and Hercules and longer term work on the Griffon and Centaurus.

In game terms the Sabre powered Typhoon and Tempest V are replaced by the Centaurus powered Tornado and Tempest II. The Whirlwind gets new Merlin engines. No Sabre means no MB3 crash, Val Baker survives, and the MB5 enters service. I can now add other Centaurus powered aircraft like the Buckingham, Shetland, Warwick, Manchester Mk II, Buckmaster and Brigand; maybe even the Hawker Fury.

Better engine development allows me to improve tank development too with more and earlier Meteor engines. I can advance the Comet, add the Centurion and also this tank destroyer:

Seriously? Now you have me. It looks like someone misread the drawing for a M3 light tank turret, and made it in inches rather than mm. Then, at a loss they stuck it on a Cromwell derivative hull!

It's a Charioteer - Cromwell chassis and a 20pdr gun.

He doesn't just mean the Centurion as he says he can add the Centurion
quote:

and also this tank destroyer
therefore he can/will add a 1950's AFV to a WWII scenario.

With embedded data you can add whatever you like to the game using the editor.
