Now I've found a different problem. The individual ship display says that there's no FP aboard but a look at the
naval planes display says there's 2 FP's aboard and it's in the red to indicate that maybe it doesn't have room
for two ;planes or maybe it's not aircraft capable entirely. I don't know which.

The Mogami and Azuma have more planes than it can fly due to a conversion issue. It can convert to a version that can field 11 FP, allowing it to operate both the FP squadron and the Rufe float fighters. Until you make the conversion (7/42) simply transfer the Rufes off these ships, and then back on when (if) they are converted.

There's a problem I found with the Aki Maru. There's two of them, both xAK's and only one of them really exists I'm guessing because of what happened. I was working with TF 202 which had one of the Aki Maru's in it and I disbanded it from the TF to start it on the conversion process to make it an AKE. But when I clicked on the anchor to get a list of the ships the Aki Maru wasn't one of them. Completely missing.

So I went to the global list of ships and that's when I found the problem The other Aki Maru was at Hiroshima and it worked fine and
it's converting to an AKE as we speak.

I've discovered that once you click on the button to commit to the conversion the ship is put in the shipyard but you can move that bad
boy pierside instead and the conversion will still proceed. Cool.

Good catch. I've changed the name of the 15112 Aki Maru to the Aki Maru II.

Recon - At work, so if these ideas are covered, disregard. A chutai of 9 recon Kates that can divide into 3x3 to go on KB (two on KB and other with Min-KB). Maybe another chutai becoming available in early 42. Upgradable to a Jill recon plane. So as not to give Japan another aircraft factory to use, make them come in as straight replacement per month (somebody might crank up production and then convert factory to something else) at like 3 to 6 each. For the Allies, have you checked the number of air and CV based airframes that are produced? I cranked up the Americans and adjusted some of the CW numbers for RA and BTS (see lates versions). Maybe have the Americans get a limited number of B-17s that are recon models only in '42 to reflect the fact that without numerous F4s, a few planes were used in this role. Since the Americans build the long range B-19s in this mod, there should be some recon plane that get reach out about half that distance or more.

I've added a total of for recon Chutais of recon Kates - essentially the Kates without the Torp with slightly longer range.

The allies already get additional F-4s as well as a land-based patrol bomber version of the B-19.

Eagerly awaiting the new patch BUMP.

Recently I've been working on creating some new unit patch art for the Japanese and I found out that the IJAAF has their main flight training school at Hamamatsu Air Base. It's the hex SE of Nagoya. In Focus Pacific the IJAAF trainers start in Tokyo. Doesn't really matter where the units are located and it can always be moved by the player, but it would be a nice touch of history if they could start in Hamamatsu. (Location ID is #227 in the editor)

Thanks, the training squadrons have been moved.

I've got a hankering to look this mod over but it sounds like you've got an update coming out soon? When is the next upgrade to this coming out?

General Paton and I are playtesting the new release but GP has modded it to a new scenario #75. You might be able to get his
new mod or the plain vanila FP from him if you ask real nice. Tell him I sent you, it probably won't make a difference but you
never know.

As it happens General Patton and I are playtesting the mod of FP that GP made and it's going rather well.
We've found one or two small nits to fix but that's with the mod and not FP. As far as I know FP is ready
for testing / playing. GP and I are on about 17Dec41 or so and so it's really early in the game so far and
it's too early to tell who is "winning" but game play is exciting and rewarding. I'm hooked on it. But then
I would be since I'm the Japs and the Japs indeed do win a lot in the early game period.

Myself and a guy named Larry are playing a PBEM, but we're looking for bugs as well. I personally don't have the time. Para is suppose to be releasing in the next week or so....GP

Would you be interested in playing a PBEM game as Japan? I would like to try this mod as the Allies.

Maybe. I want to see the latest version of the mod first. I'm good for 3-5 turns per week. If that's not enough for you then you'll want to try to find someone else <grin>.

I see that all of the invasion units start on map turn 1, but they all are assigned to restricted commands. Is that intentional?

Also, the invasion mobilization units do not appear. Will they only show up if the Japanese crosses those LODs?

I'm also interested in playing the Allied side when this is ready. Hopefully against someone who is not too experienced as Japan, or I'd be doomed pretty quickly as a long-time AI player (there's a lot I'd need to unlearn). I'd only be good for 3-4 turns a week, though, and probably wouldn't have a lot of time for an AAR.

Cheers,
CC

A possible opponent found/asked about these things.

If it has not been reported:

Air Groups 3573, 3574, 3575, and 3576 are set to a nationality of IJ Army and the arrive in 1953.
The delay value is 4206 which is completely wrong.

You are using the extended map but not the extended map bases from DBB, which is what the extended
map was all about.

The 403rd Bomb group has an incorrect Nation which has been changed to US Army in my mod which is releasing with focus pacific. The date of 06/42 is correct. I verified this. Did not see a 1953 date. As far as the Map goes, I have forgotten the difference....GP

I had been thinking about creating a mod since 2010 and started about a year later. But progress was slow. Then Para came along with FP with had many of the toys I was thinking about already and some changes and additions I wanted to make I could make with my own. A change log with the changes from FP to FP GP's Mod will be released with the scenario....GP

If you use 4206 in the delay field instead of a complete 6 digit number it treats it as the number of
days to delay instead of a date.

I guess that you changed the date also, if I just change the nationality I get this:
Anyway, if you fixed it in FP then all is good. Any idea when the update will be available?

As far as releasing FP, Para has been very busy at work. I know as soon as he can, he will release....GP

I'm feeling a bit sorry for people who have to work yet. Sometimes I miss it but not a lot. Wargaming for a living
isn't a bad life. You get a copy of the game at least. I'm not complaining.

EDIT: I'm talking about GP's MOD of FP. He sent me a copy of it. Maybe if you ask him really nicely he might
part with it again?

4206 days after Dec 7, 1941 is June 16, 1953.
