A gittin' out an mowin' the yard Sunday mornin' tithe.

What's the earliest your community allows mowing on a Sunday? Mine has an 'unspecified' time.

Anything before 8am would catch the ire of the community, but there's no hard and fast rule and certainly not an HOA code of conduct for my community.

And, I have gotten to a point in my life where I pay someone to mow my lawn

Yeah, I could do that, but I still can't bring myself to pay someone to do something that I am capable of doing for myself. It's a 'thing'. I've let a lot go-I can't remember the last time I changed my own oil on my car or did small engine repair myself-but not that. Yet.

My wife always insisted on mowing the lawn because 'I was too old'. Now she mows a different lawn for a younger man. I'm ok with that.

Yes, Mandrake is the reflected projection of my clone in an alternate universe.

Ah...the things we look forward to when we're over 50. Take myself and Mrs. Chickenboy, for example. We've both been on a waiting list for the Shingles vaccine (Shingrix) for some time and the pharmacy actually got a shipment in today. Woo hoo! Date night!

Winter? Woo-hoo! Can't wait. Highs in the 70s will be a welcome respite.

As for pre-season, I saw that. At a restaurant with the family and they had on the Giants-Jets game. I thought it was file footage of Eli Manning throwing incomplete passes at first until I realized that it was really-o truly-o Eli Manning (in the flesh!) throwing incomplete passes.

Colonoscopy? Check.

Shingrix (one of two)? Check.

AARP membership? Check.

Yup. Right on schedule.

Sounds like me two years ago, Andre.

Except for the Shingrix vaccine. Didn't get that one done.

I miss taunting my then wife about Eli's desperate heaves to avoid a sack. For she was a Giant fan.

One of the few things to look forward to about turning 50. I was on the waiting list for 14 months, as GSK makes a limited number of vaccines. There's a national waiting list. I'd encourage you to not only get the vaccine but to put yourself on a waiting list ASAP. Tell them that Terry Bradshaw sent ya!
