I was away over the weekend when I heard this news and it stopped me in my tracks for a while. I loved Star Trek as a kid and while I enjoyed all the characters, Spock was definitely my favorite. Leonard Nimoy did such a great job with him and I'm sure that Spock was the initial spark that gave me a life long interest in logical analysis and critical thinking, along with a fair helping of emotional discipline.

Watching him later in "In Search of.." and then getting to know him a bit through interviews where he was not playing any character, just being himself, reinforced to me that he was a good man and that his true nature had shone through in the characters he played.

Rest in Peace.
