New scenario for beta testing. Two SAC bomb wings against hastily fortified Soviet airbases on northern islands, with plenty of political restrictions.

-Don't hesitate to let me know if the scenario isn't workable due to the bombers being too far away from the targets, there not being enough or enough capable tankers, etc...

EDIT: NEW UPDATE. Upgraded to latest DB and included vastly more capable tankers.

OK, I'm sold, being a sucker for the B-47 and KC-97 and all. Just had the chance to look at the American mission as it may be a few days before I can actually play it. At first glance:

- Some some elements of EW Jammers (EB-47?) and strategic recce assets (RB-47 or RB-57) might be nice. Probably not U-2's. Had the very-high altitude versions of the RB-57 been introduced by this time? Just a few would probably aid the mission greatly.

- OR Perhaps a create a Corona satellite pass over the high value targets rather than manned recce aircraft to improve info on the defences;

- Weather's awful nice for January in the Arctic, unusual but not impossible. I would prefer bad weather and night but that said, it should be dark by TOT.

- Maybe consider a Player no-fly zone over Scandinavia or at least Sweden and Finland; and

- I would not worry about the range to targets as I think that solving that particular tactical challenge is a player responsibility and the one tanker wing is probably reasonable. One Player option off the top of my head is re-basing the strike aircraft to RAF Kinloss after launch to give them a couple of hundred miles extra range before Bingo. The problem as presented is realistic, solvable and manageable by the Player in my opinion.

-C

Update:

-Changed the KC-97s to much more capable KC-135s.
-Updated the scenario to the latest database.
