I know I'm a bit late to the party but check out the OST for Star Wars the Old Republic MMO. It has some of the best original Star Wars music I have ever come across. Ignore the tracks pertaining to cantinas and focus on the orchestral tracks. They are absolutely superb. Lastly, it's impossible to get a hold of the entire OST afaik but you can download at least half of the songs for free.

Probably like the mechnoids, a non-expanding non-playable faction you can trade and ally with, but who will never expand from their homeworld.

And maybe the Yuuzhan Vong as the Shakturi further down the road?? I'm still new to the game and learning the back story but the Yuuzhan Vong would be an excellent addition.

I was thinking to add some Civ's who don't expand to much to add flavor and who have a afinity for certain mayor factions.

Lets say wookies to be very close to the republic and rebels. but absolutly hate the empire and sith.

I could then do this aswell for the trade federation and mechoids and ectra.

Hapes Consortium, Corperate Sector Authority, Bothan Sector, Chiss Ascendancy...yeah that could work out well. I can probably get you ship images for most of them if you want, maybe not bothan or wookiee thoough cause they never really had specific ships besides bothan assault cruisers.

Working on getting all the Legacy Era ships right now.

Well for Bothan and wookie I would take the basic ships of the rebels and give it a different color.
Im doing it for a part for the mandalorians.

Have to test ingame what the effect is.

The chiss ar also on my list Ill need some time to make the unit sprites.

Well I've got some Mandalorian ship images that I haven't gotten to trimming yet
Kandosii-type dreadnaught

Kyramud-type battleship


They're from the Sith-Republic wars though...and top views are a bit boring...

Wow very impressive Cap...where do you get these images from? I am looking for more top down images for warhammer...but most are not that impressive...on top of the ones you already collected..

My first post was just images I collected from around these forums...I've actually deleted most of those now because of their poor quality.

I then found various artist including Unusualsuspex and Fractualsponge who show off their 3D models with multi-perspective screens.

Most recently I figured out how to change the camera angle in one of my favorite games, Star Wars: Empire at War, as well as how to turn off shadows in Sins of a Solar Empire. The former has hundreds of mods, and the latter has three notable SW mods, so there are potentially thousands of ship images I can get. I use FRAPS to get clean screenshots and windows paint to orient, quick-crop (as seen above,) and convert to PNG. Finally, I use the manual cropping tool in GIMP to get the ship by itself. It takes about 10-15 min total per large ship since I like keeping a lot of detail, so it's extremely labor intensive.

If anyone has a bunch of free time and feels like cropping a crap ton of ships, let me know.

...but to actually answer your question, WH40K ships are hard to get. I know there are a couple mods out there for space RTS's that you could try. Otherwise I'm sure Mensrea/Japhet would be ok with you using their ships as long as you gave them credit.

Yeah Japhet has done some great work...but Mensrea is MIA still...so I will wait to get his written permission...I have the Tau just about completed...and working on various other parts of my mod...

Could you link it please? The only working one I found just loaded the model, not the shaders/textures or whatever. Bright green texture-less ships don't look very good lol

Very awesome. Im starting to play with it now. Is there a way to make the empires in the game only use the star wars ships? I also want to see if I can add in a Jedi Order faction.

Well, you would have to replace every ship/star base pic in the foulders with an image of an actual star wars ship.
