Hello, I'd like to start off by saying, this Mod is far from finished, more about that later though.

So it came to my attention a few days ago that Distant Worlds doesn't have a Halo mod, I was very disappointed. So I thought to myself, this game was made to be modded and the guide itself is supposed to be beginner friendly. Why not give it a shot!?

So far I have most of the Ship Unit images done. [With permission from Deviant Artist Unusualsuspex, I used his Schematics for the ships.] I have a few more to make including one station and one more covenant ship. At the moment I'm lacking a good amount of other schematics though. Stations and civilian type ships, as well as Covenant things, oh and a Halo, they will find a place in the mod. I would give you all a sample as to what the ships will look like so far but I have to wait seven days after my 10th post to actually put a link or an image. Don't worry I will find a way.

Now onto what I said I'd talk about in the beginning. I will not promise this will be finished...ever. By me at least, if it comes down to me either not being able to do it or just getting irritated by it I will do my best to give the torch to someone willing and far greater than me. I myself started because I wanted to either, fight against the vanilla races with some UNSC fire power or see how I would fair against the covenant, 1v1.

Now to close this, I am not only new to this forum, DW Modding but modding itself. That said, I'd gladly like any advice or help with using the forum or with the Mod itself.

Looking forward to seeing your work, man!

I'm no artist but more than willing to help out with rewriting text files. I've had a little experience moddding DW, and I seem to have gotten to the point where I no longer get constant errors!

any help is better than none at all!

I've not gotten to the meat of the guide yet, I don't get much time with my job, some times I'm off at 1 sometimes at 6...I'm going to put in a good bit of work this weekend if I'm free.

Hey there!

If you need any help, let me know. I've been working on an Halo Mod myself quite recently, but struggled to get fitting Ship images for all races. Mostly due to my decision of splitting the Covenant into each of their individual races. I've got most texts already written, currently tampering with the different characters for each race. What I've finished so far:

-Race texts for all different races (Humans, Unggoy, Sangheili, San 'Shyuum, Lekgolo, Jiralhanae, Kig-Yar, Yanme'e and Huragok)
-Race Images for each race
-Almost done with the texts for the characters for each race

Good work, man! I think it makes most sense for all the Covenant races to be separate. You can always link them into the Covenant by giving them a bump in relations in the racebiases file. Actually having a game where the Covenant races all start as allies would require a preset galactic map, I think.

Yeah it does make the most sense, but as I said, the problem with different ship designs is still present. I'm thinking of giving all the covenant races the typical covenant ship design, maybe changing the color here and there, but i'm not skilled enough to create something new based on the scarce info out of the books. If I can get my hands on some schematics and get the approval of their artists, i may be able to finish the mod this week, and get it to be downloadable in the middle of the next one. Unless i run into some severe problems (San 'Shyuum troop images could be hard to find for example hrhr), but still. At least an playable Alpha will probably be available on this weekend. Than it's off to polishing and bugfixing

Well you should at the least give the Covenant super carrier a different design.

LeonNetallo has not been back in the forum since June 2014 so this mod is not likely to see the light of day.
