Missing unit components

I have a couple of units that are missing their guns like this one. I packed them on a ships, transported them to a big port, unloaded and unpacked and the guns went missing. After many days the guns don't show up. They still aren't on the transports.

In tracker, I cannot look at the formation popup on the lcu page for these units..nothing loads.

Any ideas?

PS: I did upgrade to the latest beta, but the guns went missing well after the upgrade.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure WitPTracker would choke on this, since the device is missing, but the count is there.

They might not of loaded at the first port. See if you have a componet there. GP

What game version are you using?.
What scenario?
If there is no name in the TOE, usually this indicates a data corruption (using a blank device item). The newer versions try to get the device order back in sequence if possible, but if the TOE is showing a blank, it could be the data

Nope. No splinters left behind.

This has happened to a lot of AA regiments, not only ones I moved, but several that haven't moved too. Darn American saboteurs.

I went thru most of my AA and this problem seems to only hit the Regiment and Battalion sized units, but I counted at least 19 unit
s effected.

I haven't found any other units other than AA, but it hasn't been an exhaustive search yet.

Some of the original scenario files referred to empty devices in the TOE. Later data updates corrected this.
Your save shows that same behavior - the TOE refers to empty devices.

This could be fixed by applying the in-game update if you had the latest scenario files installed. I assume that you have the original install without latest official patches as the screen shot reports no database changes required

Could this problem come from the Allied side? I picked up a dropped game, where they were playing stock initially. Once I picked up the game, we upgraded to the latest Beta.

The game on my computer is patched and up to date with the x3 beta and will be migrating to x6 shortly. When I try to use the in game update I am told I have the latest version.

The beta upgrades don't change any data. The game you took over probably was started with original stock file. You would need to apply the last official update to change the scenario data files. That should not affect the beta install as it is installed in a different directory (beta2).

Your a genius...all the allied scenario files are from 2010. All mine are from 2012.

I will get the allies to upgrade and hopefully that will solve the problem, and I can damage some accursed 4E bombers now.

I'd thought I had the most up-to-date, but I don't remember doing any "in game" update (just running executables outside the game). Is there a thread to this "in game" update so I can hopfully fix this issue?

Patch 6 is the latest update. You could try the Update application in the C:Matrix Games folder...should do it automatically I believe.

Or you can update from the Matrix Games website for patches...

Just downloaded "WarinthePacificAdmiralsEdition-UpdateComp-v1108r9.exe" from the Matrix website and ran it. After it was done, all my scenario files are still dated from 2010. What am I missing?

Mine are dated 2012, but my directory is not a good guide as I apply updates from scenario designers directly.
Maybe some others can give a better idea.

Still having problems. Fresh install. Game file. 1108r9 patch. beta patch. We will run another turn, it is not the end of the world, and then patch up to the latest beta.

We will see what happens...

My scenario 6 files are also dated 2010.

Device #1486 is blank and is used in many AA units.
It looks like any unit with air defense in the name has a blank device line 1.
In scenario 1 it is an 88mm AA gun.

Ok, problem fixed.

I got to wondering why I had files from 2010 but also 2012, and remembered adding AndMac's scenario updates. I didn't do this for scenarios but several.

So in the tech forum, I found AndyMacs thread on scenario updates, he calls it patch 7, and applied the update. Problem solved. the missing guns can now be reinforced normally and everything looks fine.

In AndyMacs description of changes he specifically mentions fixing AA problems in the database.
