Just for fun, and in the hopes of inspiring people to design more scenarios for Command, I present to you... Uncle Mark’s Amazing Scenario Design Tables These tables will generate basic situations from which one can develop scenarios. You will need one twenty-sided die (d20) and one six-sided die (d6). Enjoy! First, we need a time and place... Year of Scenario 1: 1950 + d20 2: 1970 + d20 3: 1990 + d20 4: 2010 + d20 5: 2010 + d20 6: 2010 + d20 Theaters 1-3: Atlantic Ocean, Polar Oceans, and Eurasian Seas 4-6: Indian Ocean and Pacific Ocean Atlantic Ocean, Polar Oceans, and Eurasian Seas 1. Adriatic Sea 2. Aegean Sea 3. Arctic Ocean 4. Argentine Sea 5. Baltic Sea 6. Barents Sea and/or Greenland Sea 7. Black Sea and/or Caspian Sea 8. Caribbean Sea 9. Celtic Sea and/or English Channel 10. Other (e.g. Smaller nation with limited military forces) or Roll Again (Red is not listed...that has to be determined based on where and when the scenario occurs, who the "good guys" are, etc.) And we need a plot... Basic Missions 1-2: Conduct a mine-laying or mine countermeasure operation 3-4: Conduct a reconnaissance operation 5-6: Conduct an extraction, amphibious landing, etc. (i.e., scenario focuses on getting troops, marines, etc. to certain locations so they can complete their mission) 7-8: Defend ground facilities and/or ground-based aircraft from attack 9-10: Defend ships and/or submarines from attack 11-12: Locate and destroy ground facilities and/or ground-based aircraft 13-14: Locate and destroy submarines 15-16: Locate and destroy surface vessels (convoy, battle group, coastal squadron, etc.) 17-18: Move ships and/or submarines from one location to another (through disputed territory, past a blockade, etc.) 19-20: Other (Maintain a no-fly zone, Seize ships carrying contraband, etc.) or Roll Again Other Random Generation Tables (When two choices are listed, roll 1-3 or 4-6 to determine which one should be used, if necessary; if three choices are available, roll 1-2, 3-4, or 5-6 to determine which one should be used.) 20 Nations with Major Fishing Industries (i.e., Blue ships to protect, Red ships to sink, or Green ships that need to stay out of the way) 1.
