For several turns now I have an airgroup which I have been unable to fetch replacement planes for from the pool. It says there are planes available in the pool, the unit is at an airbase with a command HQ and a good deal of supply but it won't let me get replacement planes. The replacements toggle says "replacements delayed". What causes replacements to be "delayed" is it a random thing? Is there any way for me to click some button or something which will allow me to get replacements? I thought if a group is at a command HQ with plenty of supply you could always get replacements?

Thanks!

You can only get replacements once a week, up to 12 planes.

So is it best then to wait until an airgroup has expended a large number of planes before requesting replacements for it? In other words, instead of requesting a single plane would it be better to wait until the airgroups needs 5 or 6 or something and then make the request? Otherwise does requesting that single plane use up your allotment of replacements for that week?

Thanks.

1-12 planes once a week, if you take just one replacement you still have to wait another week to get more.

It's better, but the amount of micro-management needed to do this would be extreme. There's a point of diminishing returns in turn preparation IMO. Over time the 1-12 averages out and the rule is in place for both sides. I'd spend the time working on developing strategy.

If a group is short a lot of planes, it can be better to 'upgrade' it to a different model. The group will fill out to max after the upgrade (although all planes will require ~2 days to get into flying shape).

I don`t know if you have done it but if you hover the pointer over the delay note it tells you how many days it will be...nice to know they only come once a week.
