Phasor weapon effect graphics!

It seems that there is no file corresponding to phasor weapon effect graphic. Just, default phasors look "little bit" bad, but it seems that there is no way to change that. I know that this is a minor thing, but is it really so hard to just put two image files in weapons effect folder?

Well, that's Stardrive and Stardrive uses a 3d graphics engine that allows for much better graphics. The DW engine just won't allow for that.

Thank you for your informative reply, if not for you i would never knew that Stardrive utilities 3d graphics and DW does not, no offence.

Please note, if a game has a 3D graphics, it doesn't mean that it cannot use 2D images. On the contrary Stardrive uses 2D images in several weapon effects, including phasors.

Go please to: http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=3152095 and find second table with my weapon effect graphics, and than tell me that it is impossible to create glowing phasor effect just like in Stardrive example above.

Hi Tyrador,

The Phasors are currently generated programatically, as are the gravitic beams. We actually had it on the list of things we wanted to do for this release to externalize and make them moddable, which would also improve their appearance, but we didn't get to it. We'll try to make those moddable in a post-release update.

3d or not, even anim images can look just as good, has nothing to do with the look of the phasers. Even the zooming could be smoother, if they adjusted it to use floating increments instead of whole integers.

You weren't really being helpful as much as you were condescending - and for your information, the aforementioned phasor beams can look just as look in this engine.

No, I wasn't being condescending at all so sorry if it came across like that. He asked (I thought) why the phasor graphics in this game don't look like the screenshot. I was merely (I thought) answering his question by pointing out that the screenshot is from a game with a 3d engine that is graphics intensive...as opposed to the 2d sprite engine here. I didn't know that he knew the screeny was from Stardrive and would assume that others might not know. It was a legit question and I tried to answer. There was nothing condescending about it
