Hello all:

Well the good news is that "Surrender is Done" (It gets depressing working on surrender for so long LOL). We now have true EIA surrender rules in place. Now we're working on true EIA combat which is a little more complicated than our previous tactical control combat mode but again ... worth the extra coding time!

Surrender works as follows:

1. Loser sues for peace

2. Winner offers Conditional or Unconditional Peace.

3. If Winner offered conditional peace then loser picks one condition.

4. If winner offered unconditional peace then loser can deny.

5. If conditional peace then winner picks terms available to him/her based on the condition that the loser picked.

Example: Winner could not pick "Remove 1 Corps" if loser picked the "Remove no Forces" condition.

6. If Uncondtional peace then the winner picks from larger terms list.

This is the basic summary so you can see that it follows EIA. I'll get back to you guys with combat highlights when we get closer.

Thank you all

Happy New Year

Thank you

Marshall Ellis

Having never played EIA or EIH, I wasn't sure what this was. After reading through the forum, it sounds like an excellent product. Anticipation is rising, I think it is going to be another good one from Matrix.

Good job - glad you were able to make it work.

I wish the game would be coming out now, while I have some vacation I could use to play it. :)

I also want to says thanks for all the hard work being done there at Matrix. Not only are you producing excellent games, but you've also set the standard for the formation of a friendly, and responsive gaming community. Since purchasing UV in Oct. I feel like I've come home. As a newbie I was treated respectfully, and helpfully by Matrix staff and by fellow gamers in the forum when I ask what I'm sure now were simple and probably redundant questions. I appreciated that.
In any case I eagerly await the release of EIA and also WItP. These are my two favorite periods to game. (The maps for EIA and East Wind Rain have been up on my wall for years.)

I have a question.

How will the game simulate the political aspects of the game for none player major powers? And how will the AI handle political decisions?

Well I guess thats two questions. Anyway thanks again, and Happy New Year to the staff at Matrix and to everyone on the forums.

I had a question. Right now I am in a paper EiA game (well, actually a Gamebox version). We just got started, actually and we were all wondering what happens when the game is finished. Will we have to finish it the old-fashioned way? Or is there going to be a scenario editor with the game?

Are you planning/hoping to include an editor?

Happy New Year and Thanks!

Doh! I just posted on the December update thread w/o seeing this one.

Glad to see surrender resolved satisfactorily.

Agree that all EIA rules should be as faithful as possible in order to be worthy to the popularity of that title's boardgame heritage. If more "chrome" is desired, and perhaps it would be nice, please do it via optional rule/procedure so the players can choose between the more simple/complex or the more faithful/historical/ahistorical.

Thanks for the continued updates! :)
