Hi all, I think I know how work an AV tender (più o meno), but I need to know
this 'detail':
-when AV tender is docked, the embarked Float Planes CAN fly;
-when AV tender is disbanded, the embarked Float Planes CAN fly;
-when AV tender is sailing, the embarked Float Planes CANNOT fly.
Is this correct?
Thanks.

Ok, thanks. I always referred to the manual (Appendices, pag.275 -An auxiliary used to tend float
planes and flying boats. Differs significantly from CS in that AV type ships do no operate aircraft
while underway and generally do not carry aircraft themselves.
.), but many things are changed in
the years.

There are actually TWO values:
1) Number of planes able to operate from onboard a ship
2) Number of supported planes, when ship is in port (this is shown in base screen)

Those two values are generally different, and AVs can operate really small groups underway (actually most can NOT operate any planes at all). Everything is visible on ship screen. Too much planes, and value will be in red, same as for CVs.

i think there are only 2 USN AVs, Langley & Wright, that can run a 4-plane floatplane group (underway or in port), in addition to providing amphibian support when disbanded in a base-hex.
