A ship departs port A with the destination of port C. It is set to use waypoints and passes through port B.

I know you can set the ship to refuel at port B, but my question is would the ship UNLOAD at the waypoint of port B or only unload when it reaches the final destination of port C?

Thanks

Given the way the question was couched, the answer "No" is unenlightening; a meaningful answer would have been "the TF unloads at B" or "the TF only unloads at C".

BTW, this is NOT how I would use waypoints. I would use waypoints to define TF routes to avoid contact with the enemy (e.g., to skirt concentrations of airpower).

i'm not certain, but tend to think that a TF will unload at a waypoint base/dot hex. So i set waypointed tran/amph TFs to 'do not unload', & change it to 'unload cargo' after they've passed their last waypoint.

i don't entirely agree w/ Horatio - to avoid enemy airpower, you can use waypoints, but you can also use the Safer or Safest TF Routing options. Waypoints are great for refueling, such as a Sub TF departs from PH, waypoints at Midway for a full refuel, then proceeds on to its Destination. After it refuels, you can access the TF, cancel its waypoints & set up its patrol zone.

TF will unload at final destination, not at waypoints.

You can refuel there though.

I use waypoints for refueling TF's with escorts that don't have enough fuel. They stop at the port, fill up, check under the hood and continue on their way. Don't worry about them unloading.

Confirmed, refueling using waypoints works.

For a minute, I thought this thread was going to degenerate into a middle school nightmare.

"Ship A leaves San Francisco port at 2:50pm West Coast time, travelling west at 18 knots. Its destination is Pearl Harbor, 1,800 miles distant. The same day, at 8:50pm local time in Honolulu, ship B leaves port heading east at 19 knots. Its destination is San Francisco.

Neither ship will require refueling. Assume both ships take as direct a course as possible-no waypoints! Which ship will arrive first at their destination?"

[shudders...]

Use waypoints to throw off your opponents intel.

Say you have an amphib tf at San Fran and are going to use it to invade Wake Island....

Set your "final destination" to, say, Sydney, Oz, but put your first waypoint one hex outside of Wake Island.

Then, while the tf is steaming to your first waypoint, the enemy intel should read something like "tf 1234 heading to Sydney" (or whatever is the proper syntax).... then, when you're a day's sail away from Wake, change your final destination to Wake Island.

Then the Japs won't know that  you're coming.

Sneaky, I like it.
