Hi Guys

Here is an example of the new graphics being worked on by Vicious Byte. The colors and the interface are being worked on still so this is not final but we are getting closer. Please let us know what you think.

I should mention that the maps look better without the hex overlay. Steffan is doing a great job.

Right !

I'm pretty confident that the new maps are adding
a lot to the game. Small drawback is that the editor
is going to be overhauled to meet the new specs
making it imossible for a winter WS release.

Expect to see the game available for christmas.

Looks good! I especially like the 3D effiect of the hills and landscape.

Will we be seeing more detail in terms of interaction with the map i.e. scorch marks from explosions, titan's limbs left lying on the ground etc. I think it would be a nice touch!

Hey, I think the extreme 3D angle looks awesome. If you don't want to use that one, I definitely vote for 3D with more angle.

I'm getting very excited to see more of it. I wish I could be more active in helping.

I just did it without fog of war to show the map. Of course it will be in in all angles.

Any desire to make this optional ? I never thought about
playing without it.

i like the more angle the better
on the elevation of hexes, the illusion of either ascending or descending would be a nice touch, perhaps this could be achieved making half the hex the color it is adjacent to

I like the more angle also, but it looks like if you had a tall enough mountain range you could lose sight of your own titan. Not that big a deal, but if you're not paying attention you might lose track of the direction your facing etc...

I also prefer having more angle.

I'm not the best at reading contour maps, so the more help the computer gives me in visualising the battlefield, the better.

Extreme angle looks spiffy, but it's so impractical as to be silly :)

larkin: if you asked me, you should make EVERYTHING optional, but you already know that, the more options the better(aslong as it does not slow down release to much). my opinion.

I can't really imagine playing ToS without the fog of war. I think it would lose something of the fun if you could immediately see where your enemy is. Half the battle is finding him and hoping he hasn't snuck around behind you. :)

I think Fog of War should be optional. This way either style of player can fully enjoy the game.
