Assult at HHour not working...

Hello !
I have downloaded the patch and when i click the ABOUT option on the
start menu it showns the game has been updated to V 4.1.232...

I don't know if i'm doing anything wrong but the assult at HHour function does not
work...My units form up at the FUP and start assulting as soon as they are ready
and not at the time i have specified...?

I tried the tutorial scenario and battle of the crossroads...same thing...

my order:

- Attack order
- 2 waypoints (FUP and obj loc)
- formation: unspecified
- Assult at AUTO unchecked and assulttime set 3 hours after the order was given
- Speed: normal, route: quickest

All other options: no change...

Am i doing something wrong or does it not work...(no message about cribbibg the assult) ?

Just to confirm, did they start their assault before the time you had set - ie before the Assault At time? Did you notice if they had slipped the HHour before they started it?

Yes they did...

I tried it again...
I gave the assult order to the 51 armoured inf Bn HQ just like in the tutorialmovie:

Placed the FUP infront of their current possition and the Obj Loc north of the bridge...
I set the assult at HHour to 09:00

The forming up was completed at 06:25
The batallion started their assult right away...
After clicking the assultorder incon it still showed assult at hhour to be 09:00
Looking at the assult task showed: Start 06:25 end 06:41

No message about slipping the assult...

I will try this myself and I hope it this is wrong because this is one of the most important new feaqtures in BFB. One claification...is the HHour the time that the actual assault begins from the FUP?

Hi Guys,

Yes I can confirm we have reproduced it.

It looks like another bit of code, not the crib bit Dave fixed, has now cut in and launches the assault. Wargames are such simple beast to code and understand!

We will have a look and if the fix is simple see if we can put out a seconf beta.

Answered my question as well. Had exactly the samething. 318th and 51st set to assualt at 07:00

The 318th waited but the 51st just went straight into the attack.

Playing with the patch BTW.

I just assumed it was a gung ho commander

My testing so far seems to show that the original fix works for attacks with multiple HQ's, but not for single HQ's.

Need to do some more investigating to confirm that though.

I agree this is really a nice feature, and it's too bad it still does not work yet. I hope you will manage to fix that for the next patch.

We have a fix for this, need to do some more internal testing before we put it into the patch.

The attack code is complex! So we need to ensure we have not broken anything else.

Does it mean "begin the move to the FUP at";

or does it mean "forming up is now complete and Attack at"?

Yeah, I'd like to get some clarification on this as well. The manual states:

quote:

Assault – at HHour, the assault group will Assault from the FUP straight to the objective with a
maximum of speed and aggression
(p74)
and
quote:

At the HHour, the assault units will start to Assault towards the attack objective – moving, firing and
calling in on-call-support as they encounter enemy units.
(p76)

HHour is defined in the manual glossary as:
quote:

Start time of the critical phase in a plan, usually the assault in an attack


So I'm guessing it should be the second meaning, but from my experience it's the first, i.e. thats the time they start moving towards the FUP at?

It means the start of the assault task - ie after the units have reorged at the FUP.
