Well in my game as the Allied player vs the AI Japanese I managed to depth charge and sink two Dutch subs in the first week of the war. Proof that just how efficient the RAF/RN are! Hopefully they should go after the Japanese at some point

I'd probably have dopped my donut about the third day. In any event, I try very hard not to put ships anywhere they are easy targets for Japanese subs for a few months. Most allied ships with ASW are 1 or 2 and convoys cannot get enough points to scare off the sub. I expect japan will be doubly running scared of allied subs near the end of the war.

Twice in the recent months, I have have a surface ASW group depth charge a Japanese sub and force it to the surface where the "crippled" sub then fired a salvo or two of torpedoes and hit a DD, all the time while being pummled by gunfire..... and then slipped below the waves. I just loved watching the combat replays.

Even more amazing is that both DDs survived.
