Ok, hopefully the last revision. There's some nits and grits and a little this, a little that, but nothing all that significant. Think we'll put a fork in this one and save anything new for DaBigBabes. It's in 3 chunks: Scen026, Scen027, and Ship_Art. Here's Scen026

And here's the Art - there's a couple that will "replace" what's already there, just say ok and let it happen.

You mentioned in the main forum thread that Harald's work is being held for the biggie. In your opinion is it worth upgrading now? Will you give us an idea what is included in 003.

Dinks and tweaks. Go ahead and upgrade now. DBBB stuff will be a long time coming, and the ship stuff will not significantly change the game. Play away - nothing in DBBB Clss/Ship files will bite you in the brookie.

OK, JWE I hear you, but, in the interim I think I will try to wing Harald's info into 003 and include the various items I have in my version of Da Babes lite. Pain in the butt, cause it takes me so damn long on a line for line basis using the editor. Simpler to use Excel, but every time I make changes I have to relearn the process all over again (old people should be taken out and shot).

Hi JWE: Thx for the mod. I noted that in the scen that starts on 12/8/41, the in game date
has the first day as 12/7/41. Is that ok?

I'm going to pretend I didn't see this post. I can't take another restart.

But I really do recommend this mod to folks playing the Allies against the AI that were already thinking about a do-over.

WOW, I am away for a couple of weeks and look what you all do. Thanks so much guys.

Don, one of my Dutch buddies finaly responded to my request for info on the DEI and he is digging around and we shall see. I have not heard from the museum about the Commonwealth floating drydocks and ship yards.

Side note: Assuming the worst one day and the HD dies and I have to reload the game, is there going to be a single location with the fully patched version of babeslite?

Hi guys,

Will the files that replace old ones mess up a game with Scen 1,2,etc? I'm going to play your game on my next restart (happening soon), and I'd just like to know if I'm going to hose some ship files if I decide I don't like it and return to scen 1.

(I really wish your OOB corrections (and most additions) would make it into the official scenario's. I'm not sure if we're going to see another patch, but I would assume OOB corrections are sort of easy to make. Oh well, just venting.)

Nope. One just replaces a motor launch image with a better one, the other replaces one of those New Jersey images that are used as placeholders.

Should work just fine. Just a minor oops. If you want to have everything just right, open Scen027 in the editor, push the Scenario radio button, and change the Day field from 7 to 8. Hit save and That's it.

Thanks JWE. Used the editor for the first time and the fix was easy.

One question: is Babes Lite suitable for PBEM or is it intended for just AI?

OK two questions: are there any significant changes in Babes Lite from Scn 1 other than adding small ship classes (the Babes) and split torpedo tubes? (Sorry if I missed this answer in another thread).

Sure. Babes Lite is designed as an alternative to stock scenarios 01 and 06. Can play it the same way.

Yeah, some. Data math smoothing of some characteristics, mostly just moving stuff better into the distribution pile. Little of this, little of that; mostly tweaking to get things in line and consistent with one another.

Ship class 1384 and 1385 (Momi)
It has 2 DC's on the right side and 1 DC on the left. Is that correct? Should there be 1 on each side and 1 in the rear? or 2 on each side? Seems odd to have 2 on the right and only 1 on the left. The captain would have a hard time keeping trim. ;)

kewel. We gather info; some things we tweak, some we may not. Because we don't like to do revisions unless something really important happens, we may collect 10 or 20 little things that won't show up till something big forces a revision a few months down the road.

Keep 'em coming, when you find 'em, but please don't be offended if we don't rush right out and do a rev. It will eventually get in the box, but we prefer a stable platform to keep the players happy. Ciao. J

Probably should use the Lite device file. There are tons of data smoothing tweaks, ammo cost, load cost, acc, anti-soft, penn, that were done.

It will technically work with the stock Device file, but it will be ugly.

Oh, lorks a lordy. Perhaps we are all sailing into a miscommunication black hole. Let’s see if we can’t make this a bit more clear. All of the different files have to play together, so it’s not just a matter of picking a file and dropping it in; it has to be appropriate to the rest of the files comprising the scenario. Classes and Ships cannot just be dropped in, because there are weapons vectors pointing to Devices, and bears, oh, my.

Every single thing you change has implications in at least one other file set, and in at least three combat algorithms. So be circumspect.

Babes Lite:
Class and Ship (wpc, wps) files modified extensively, but no impact to AI play.
Device file (wpd) modified somewhat to make things smoother, easier to play with, no impact on AI play.
Airgroups file (wpg) is as stock, but with some fixes, no impact to AI play.
Locations file is as stock, no impact to AI play.

Les Bebes (Da Babes, MO’s take):
Class and Ship (wpc, wps) files modified radically to account for vessels through March 1946, but no impact to AI play.
Device file (wpd) heavily modified with many new devices as additions and replacing older ones. MUST be used in conjunction with MO’s location (wpl) files. Should have no impact on AI play.
Airgroups file (wpg) is modified with new entries conforming to the new Class/Ship designations. Should have no impact on AI play.
Locations file (wpl) is heavily modified and “requires” the corresponding Device file. Lots of stuff here, but testing indicates it should have minimal impact on AI play.

Da Zygotes (DBBB):
Class and Ship files (wpc, wps) as in Les Bebes.
Airgroups file (wpg) as in Les Bebes.
Device file (wpd) radically modified. Not compatible with other versions. Not compatible with the AI.
Locations file (wpl) radically modified. Not compatible with other versions. Not compatible with the AI.
