Hi everyone,

My first impressions on this game were :

-It's a great game.

-Great opportunities (MODS)

and

A STARGATE MODIFICATION.

This game is surely the best support to build a mod for Stargate.

I'm not a graphic modder, I'm not a genious on scripting but I can bring ideas, and help everyone who care in this project.


So, I begin :


Races:

-Humans (Tau'ri)



-Ancients


-Free Jaffas


-Aschens


-Olesians


-Tollans


-Ori (represented by enslaved Humans)


-Goa'uld


-Wraiths


-Replicators


-Nox


-Serrakins


-Oranians


-Stragoth


-Reetou


-Reol


-Sekkari


-Genii


-Satedans (Ronnon Dex's tribe cf Atlantis)


-Galarans


-Ohne


-Asuran (Nanites


-The Bug People



Great stuff, isn't it ?

Ships (not exhaustive):

-Ancients

(Same ships that the Goa'uld , different bonus)

I wanted to sum-up the history of each race, but the night fall

Hi,

I think a stargate mod could be fun

btw. Welcome to the forum im also very new myself.

Well so far i figured out the modding i not so difficult !
Basicly, the race picture's are easy to mod if you have the right picture's or art.

And I think its best to center to the primary races to begin.
Now, the hardest part is finding good starship top-down viewed art  ...
example of good stuff :

Yeah that picture would make a great in game model without much modifications, maybe you guys can post what races you specifically want in what order, help us focus as a community. That way we all can contribute? My two cents

First, thank you for your help and you're right. Begin with ships they are already "scanned" and check by all sides.

We must start by simple things (Text and some ships easy to do).

Asgard space ship:

Yes, focus on principal races : Humans, Goa'uld, Asgard, Wraith, Replicators, Ori, Asuran, Jaffa and Genii.




So, a sum-up of "What is moddable ?":

-Text (diplomacy)

-Ships

-identity card (photo and maybe history of the race)

-Ressources (Naquada, E2PZ,...)

-Technologies (Asgard teleportation system for example)

That's all for the moment but it's enough, I guess.

EDIT:

Idea for Goa'uld's Space station






ANOTHER idea, you can go to, for example : D:\Program Files\Matrix Games\Distant Worlds\images\units\ships\other\MajorSets

You will see Ancients faction's ships and base station, we can mod them to create for example, an lost Orion class (Ancient's space ship) as a Capital ship.

The good thing about a Stargate mod is the terrible cheesy storylines,lore and bad acting will not be seen in the game.

shoo you, stargate is one of the better scifi series
your blind critique makes fanboys like myself die a little inside

go rip on andromeda or something if you need a bad tv show

oh...and irony for the fact you have ME2 as an avatar, as if that isnt cheesy (the good kind, but still cheesy)
