luxury resource mining

Are luxury resources harvested by both gas mining and mining stations?

Reason I ask is some luxury resources are on planets that have gas resources while others are on planets with mineral resources.

Afaik they're only harvested by your citizens on your colonies. Then they're distributed by private traders by supply and demand.

Luxury resources are harvested by the luxury module, which is included on the default mining starbase but at a low rate. There is plenty of room for improvement so I made a deluxe mining station by adding a few miner and luxury modules in addition to defensive weaponry. The design screen will state the productions numbers.

Interesting I hadn't thought about looking at the designs of resource gathering structures. Sounds obvious now that you mention it, thanks.

No problem, just keep in mind the extra cost associated with any upgraded designs. I am mainly building them on hostile borders or resource rich locations.
