I loaded it but the name doesn't show on the scenarion menu.

When I click on slot 17 it does show up.

Small item to fix.

I now get a failure to load scenario error.

I get the same error

ok just got it to work by adding in a scen017.cmt file
loads fine now
cheers

Especially interested in the allied AI as I think this one might be popular as the Axis

Ive just played as the allies against the Jap AI

It was a great fun scenario, i enjoyed the small unit actions where each unit was more important.

I was able to take Sabang <sp?> with no loss of ships amd atwo day ground assault.

I didnt go to port blair, but i did this in my WITP-AE campaign as well and it worked just as well,
I'm keen to now give it a try as the jap vs the AI.

The AI seemed fine and tried to destroy my amphibious group.

thanks for the scenario

J

I played v2 versus Allied AI a few times and it felt balanced or slightly in favor of the Allies (mostly focused on repelling the initial invasion of Port Blair). Is it intentional that the Japanese heavies and carriers have no port in which to re-arm? It isn't too big of a deal as each of the IJN TFs really only get one shot at the allies before paying a heavy price.

One other note is that players (IJN especially) should have their reinforcement variability set to "fixed" or else the IJN TFs can delay past the end of the scenario and never show up.

Nice pictures von T

I am not sure about re arming still mulling it over maybe Rangoon should start at 6 not sure

The IJN SCTF should be able to cause mayhem with the allied landings as long as the Avengers and Barracudas are kept away or if they wait for the carriers to arrive

the two Jap CV CAG's look weird to me is that right that they only have 18 fighters each ??

Also dont underestimate that Topsy Sqn that arrives you have both a Para Regt and orther forces that can air bridge in if the Allied player is slow

In v3 VP's were adjusted so the allies need one of the bases for the draw

I think for v4 I will also add a single Betty Sentai as reinforcements to give the japanese some punch from about day 12

Can v4 get one of the battalions from Rangoon/Pegu over to Moulmein please? Taking a garrison VP penalty hit on turn one and having to move a unit there each time is kind of a headache.

On a side note, any players that complain about weak Allied ASW early in the war will like playing this scenario as it shows just how good the Allies get at ASW by late-43.

Fun scenario Andy. Allied carriers had a tendency to leave the amphibious TF unprotected the closer it got to Port Blair. I was able to turn the invasion around with what little airpower I had left because of this.

To make it even more fun I caught the British carriers in low visibility at night. I'll try and play out the rest of the scenario to see if they make another attempt but I am guessing I took the fight out of them.

Do you think the AI script will make another attempt or does it give up after the first invasion try? Thank you for all of the hard work. These new scenarios are great to see IMHO.

That screenshot...is beautiful!

But one has to wonder if you used up all your luck right there.

Did you get a chance to post v4 Andy? I seemed to have lost track of where you left off. The latest zipfile I could find was v3. Thanks!

Is there any v4 out as alluded to in previous posts?
Best regards,

-Sorted this out, new version hadn't installed in the right folder as zip didn't have paths, once I moved the files all works fine-

I can't get this to load, it gets halfway on the loading bar then returns to the scenario selection screen

Um... I have no idea where to find this scenario, Andy! Which is kind've annoying, as it's set in an area I wanted to try out a smaller scenario.

/Edit/ Found one (v3) embedded in a message further up. Is there a subforum where new scenarios are published out?

Just giving it a whirl as the Allies. Love it, Port Blair is as good as gone, there are a few desperate flights coming in from Rangoon every once in a while, but any serious Jap resistance is yet to materialize (apart from some pesky subs my trip from Ceylon was uneventful).

I assume this became scenario 13 Operation Baccaneer and is added via a patch to the base game?
