is there any sort of prefs file that would allow me to shut off air combat summaries? I find the summaries useful except for air stuff - dozens of sweeps that yield nothing are time consuming, and i would love to have a granular menu where you could turn off combat summaries for certain events, a la hearts of iron.

thanks. would be really cool if they granularized it so you could choose which anims you wanted to see, and which summaries. many of the air mission summaries are not really that useful

The big problem is not putting it in the code, but presenting the switches to the player.  As it is now we present a ton of switches to the player and we're pretty much out of screen real estate.

why couldnt the switches be made a bit smaller, or make it scrollable so there can be another screen of them? Or make them just accessible from the ingame preferences menu if you cant/wont change the look/feel of the switches screen.

We have to prioritize changes, and this one would be pretty low on the list.  I have thought about it, but I'm not sure the pain is worth the gain.  Right now I just scroll past all the bombing at bases with a cursory scan.  It's a little annoying, but not as bad as some of the other annoyances.

Any change to a screen is not a trivial task.  The way the screens are designed, making changes is time consuming.  Any changes in artwork (which would be necessary if we made the switches smaller) adds even more to the time necessary.
