I have started a new PBEM vs Scott1964(allied) and I am Japan.

This is the first time I have played Japan, always was allied in Witp. This is a rematch from our Witp game with us switching sides.

We have always had good communication and this has brought about a discussion on which files to send to the allied player. Based on old Witp this was the procedure.

The flow of turns is now pretty simple:
Japan player loads 005 file, which generates the 001 combat replay save file, and then enters orders.
Japan player sends TWO files to the Allied Player: turn save file (wpae005.pws) and combat replay save file (wpae001.pws)
The Japan Player may at his discretion also send the combatreport.txt file as well, but it is not necessary.

Allied player loads 001 file to view results and generate reports
Load 005 file to enter orders
Allied player sends ONE file to the Japan Player: turn save file (wpae005.pws) only

Scott is requesting the combat replay save file (wpae001.pws) my concern is with the new FOW for both sides will this not give him intel that only the Japanese have? My understanding this was done in the past due to inaccurate replay's by the Allied side. I figured AE has taken care of this.

The point I will make in this is when the Japanese invade it shows what troops are lost in the landing but the allied player does not see this. Would this replay give away that information?

I want to be fair but don't want to give free intel. Looking for an experianced reply.

Thanks

The combat replay is designed to be viewed by both players and contains FOW inaccuracies. This should be sent to the allied player for viewing.

Scott definitely needs the combat file. It displays FOW equally to both sides.

Jap player should send wpae001.pws and game turn, ie slot it was saved in. Allied should just return game turn.

I would make this a must. The allied player can compare this with the one generated from his turn and determine if there is a synch issue.

It's secure. Try re-running the .001 file again after first resolution; you can't. It will ask you for a Player 2 password. See?
