Whats the best way to have your transports load only troops and equipment and NOT load supplies at the same time once the troops are embarked?

Use a transport TF and instruct it to load only troops.

Under the load troops button are options for loading troops only

button is located at lower left corner of menu after you select load troops on the TF screen. "Turn on Load only Troops"

Amphibious TFs always take on a small amount of supplies no matter what. Other than that they work like transport TFs in regards to load troops only.

Edit: Made it a bit clearer.

For amphibious TF there is some supply requirement for the LCU being carried. Though I'm not sure if this supply is stored in the LCU itself or in the cargo space of the vessel.

I assume if you check the load only troops button you'll have the right amount of supplies loaded for that LCU - somewhere.

Troops loaded on Amphibious TFs will automatically load an amount of supply equal to three days worth. This is not controllable by the Load Troops Only function - it's minimum ammo and food for the first couple of days on combat after they land.

supply equal to three days worth

Is it really three days worth in game (i.e. how much the units would use in game) or based on real-life calculations? Because it seems to be quite a lot.

You can also order your TF's to "stop loading supplies" after the LCU's are loaded and they'll head off to their destination without loading more supplies.

I've had to resort to that a few times. Would it be possible to have just a unload supplies button, so I won't have to disembark all the troops in order to unload the supplies.

Also will using the calculate load/accept load routine affect all this? I've used it on a few occasions and that too may be part of the problem.

I think there should be the option to load just 1 or 2 days of supplies for the amphib landing troops and penalize the troops accordingly.

It is three days worth based on the combat support costs in existence at the time it was written.

It would have been nice if you had the a choice to say how much supplies you want to load for the troops. Say you load a division onto AKs or xAKs and don't want it to load 100000 supplies also, because thats the cargo space of the TF. If you then could choose loading only an additional 5000 supplies that would be a great thing. As it is now you have to make a seperate cargo TF for those 5000 supplies and tell it to meet and merge with the amphib. TF which was set to "load troops only".
