This is a newscaster I grew up with, so I am greatly saddened. He was 92 years old. " And that's the way it is."

God bless you Mr. Cronkite. RIP.

It makes me want to watch some of his old news shows again.

Rest in peace, Walter Cronkite.

He certainly did the best with the cards he was dealt, so to speak. I am grateful that I live in an age where I can find alternative, and brave coverage that the MSM won't dare touch.

Always was and always will be the best. WWII, Man On The Moon(which he paraphrased) etc. No one did it better. RIP my friend, you were are part of it just as the men and women that were involved themselves.

I also grew up in the 70's watching Walter Cronkite every night while we ate supper. The evening news hasn't been the same(or as good) since he left CBS Evening News.

Rest in peace Walter!
He was the last newsman that gave actual news and not the lousy fluff that you get on the nightly news now!

Wow. I grew up watching Walter Cronkite. There is probably no one in the world I would trust more giving me the news than him. RIP Mr. Cronkite.

There are images which will forever remain in my consciousness: Walter, taking off his spectacles, nearly breaking into tears, as he announced JFK's death. Six years later, the joy of announcing the moon landing.

As Tom Brokaw stated, Mr. Cronkite was the reporter of more pivotal moments in world history than perhaps anyone else.

There was also his 1968 editorial which helped bring down an administration. LBJ reportedly said, "If I've lost Cronkite, then I've lost America". However, Walter never became consumed in his own self-importance, and that's the quality which made him "the most trusted man in America".

There will never be another like him.

The day and age when news media reported things more newsworthy than celebrity updates.

RIP Walter.
