This is a good point. It's hard for me to keep up with all the acronyms especially when people are referring to non-Matrix games with them.

Agreed!

But an alternative would be to mention the complete title of the game in the thread's title or in the first post in the thread.

Trouble is with the "tell me some good games to play" threads. After the first post you get about a thousand acronyms in alphabet salad.

I know what BS means But I agree that, unless you're a regular on this forum, the acronyms are generally a puzzle to most.

The list defined could be in a FAQ.

You can't do that !    It's just so much fun making them up and watching people pretend they know what you are talking about...

Yea, you might have a point, but on the other hand- D I L L I G A F

It could be useful, but care should be takena s to what is defined.

In context of a matrix games forum, the games being acronymmed* would suffice. The problem as I see it is that the only one's who really know and use a specific game acronym are those who own/play/or are/were specifically interested in a game. So you get a thread like "which game should I buy" which is then filled with acronyms used by owners/players but meant for obviously non-owners/non-players consumption. I think it'd be Matrix best interest to help newbies to understand which game is being talked about in each of those acronyms. Now if you're in a specific forum, you can guess what the main acronym means, but not necessarily in the general forum. For instance if someone said "AT attack strengths are too high," ...did they say attack strength are too high in Advanced Tactics? Or did they say Anti-Tank attack strengths are too high in the Operational Art of War? Or in wargames in general? Granted the example given is probably poor as there would hopefully (but not necessarily), be a better context).
