How many hexes along the front line at June 1941 ?

What are the stacking limits?

Is it I-GO, U-GO or is it WEGO?

What are the victory conditions? If you hold a victory location for lots of turns does that accrue lots of points?

Calling for beta testers?

Map is 184x140 (10 mile) hexes. Front line in 1941 starts at 45,43 and ends 74,177 (~110 hexes) plus Finish front.

Victory Points (VP) are getting for capuring and holding victory locations (points per turn and ownership points) and for the "killing" enemy.

Is there a similiar level of detail for units as in WitP, or it's rather abstracted like in WbtS?

Units are quite detailed, down to individual squads and vehicles like WIR.

Any chance for 3 day turns?

Can air units bomb bridges?

Can we expand rail lines?

Howdy

I am one of the testers and will help try and answer what I can. You guys will really love this game.

1. Turns are a week long, I don't know if it's in he game plan to offer other than that. Week long turns work very well.

2. The scale of this doesn't really allow for the tactical type pinpoint bombing but you can bomb units, airfields (which I love to do), and cities.

3. You can convert rail lines that you capture. There are lots of rail lines too. I have not seen the need to build beyond what is there.

Uh oh. I'm sure the Witp crowd wants daily turns at the least, or better yet every 2 hours like an HPS title ;-D

Nah, about 200 turns, while one turn needs 1h to be played, seems ok for me. Means you can finish a PBEM within a few months.

You're quite incorrect.

OK, it's just that with the IGOUGO system, the defender can't react to
an enemy attack for 7 days. If a Soviet general took a 7 day vacation,
he would likely be sent to the gulag(or shot).

And the German general wouldn't? It's a level playing field.

There is a reserve system in the game that allows the defender to place units in this mode that will allow them to automatically move into a nearby fight. The unit has to meet certain criteria first and the battles must be within it's movement allowance in order to be placed in reserve. Plus there are other factors that play in to whether it participates or not.

This function is still in its infancy but has some really great potential.

Another feature are subordinate units attached to Hq's. Hq's have a range that increases for higher levels. Subordinate battalion size units..like arty, antitank, air defense, engineers, separate tank battalions, etc, that are attached to an Hq can (but not always) participate in a battle that is within range of the Hq and where one of the subordinate divisions/brigades are involved in.

As contrary as it sounds to reason, I think that is actually correct. A lot of german generals that were fired (and not by the gun) ended up assuming the same command all over again later on. I can't think of a single german general offhand that was shot for failure. Rommel was close, as he was forced to take cyanide, but that was of course wasn't a reprisal for failure at the front. Stalin had learned purges and never let it go. The USSR was the same ones who had detachments, NKVD, to shoot men who stepped away from their posts. Very different mindset. Lower german ranks probably felt the sting of executiuon for failure at times, but I can't think of the generals having been subject to that. I guess Von Paulus was another, but had he got away, I doubt he would had been executed, though as he was stuck in Stalingrad Hitler did expect him to kill himself (no german field marshall had ever been captured alive).

The last paragraph is precisely that way in WIR as well.

Sounds good, like charles 22 says, just like WIR.
