ORIGINAL: madgamer As an iron clad rule I no longer do business with PayPal as they caused me a serious problem with a credit breach which required me to get a new credit card. My credit card company caught the error and I lost no funds but will not and can not reveal exactly what the problem was. As a result I never do business with PayPal. It means I have to pass a lot of purchases on eBay bit that's life. I hope you get your problem solved. Madgamer Boy, can I relate. I had one of those cool "Confirmed" accounts with PayPal, which they make sound so secure and an advantage to have. I had a similar breach of security and someone got into my PayPal account and purchased $300 worth of online gaming accounts in Europe. To my horror, I discovered that by having a "confirmed" account, PayPal directly sucks the money out of your checking account instead of a credit card. So in my case, I was out $300 until Paypal investigated my complaint and verified that it was indeed a case of identity theft. After that experience, I deleted all my PayPal accounts and severed relations with them. Never again will I allow a company direct access to my checking account, no matter how secure they claim to be.
